PET EDUCATION and responsible ownership

We have advertised our beautiful boy to find him the very best pet home available. We have turned down over 400 enquiries due to non suitable homes. We are breeders. We are retiring this lovely boy from breeding. Reggie is just over two years old so not fully matured yet as ragdolls are a slow maturing large breed. We have copped abuse and a lot of questions over why we are rehoming him. We have been accused of “ discarding him “ which couldn’t be further from the truth. As breeders who are registered with the biggest recognised cat council in Australia, we are bound by very strict rules and ethics, the general public are not aware of. If those rules are breached and we get reported, we can be de registered as breeders. Here is the reason that breeders rehome retired breeding animals. When breeders have a number of breeding pets ( needed so inter breeding doesn’t occur ) it takes a lot of room and money to house them all. When an animal is retired from breeding, usually it is because new breeding lines are needed or the cat in girls cases have had the litters they’re allowed to have ethically, in our case it is because we are downsizing our cattery. It is impossible to keep them all once they are desexed and retired. It has nothing to do with how much we love them. Hoarding is not in the animals best interests ( plenty of people end up in court because they have too many animals and can no longer cope ). Rehoming them is the best thing to do for the animals long term happiness in a pet only home so before you comment uneducated nasty comments, please educate yourself on why breeders do rehome. It is in the pets best interests. Keeping them is not. You might think you’re getting a bargain buying from newspaper classifieds or pet shops however…….those animals are being bred by irresponsible owners. They are not registered breeders who make certain they are breeding from sound stock. They do not register the babies birth so you get pedigree papers. So you still pay top dollar for “ purebreds “ and you’ve done your money. If the animal becomes ill or dies, you get nil protection or refund…..you do however get a broken heart from bonding with your new baby and losing it. It is a tonne of money and hard work to breed properly and do it ethically and humanely. Ethical registered breeders can be and are held accountable with their cat council, backyard breeders who allow their animal to wander the streets and get pregnant or used friends undesexed pet to make money as “ purebreds “ are not. Always buy from reputable breeders only or risk the heartache. Reggie does need a loving home so please PM ONLY or questions will be deleted. And yes his eyes are that blue!! Hello people out there, happy New Years to everyone and have a safe 2022. There are now changes to our cattery, unfortunately due to compromised people in our family and worsening omicron covid cases around Australia and sadly at our doorstep with over 100 cases and growing

1. We can no longer offer guaranteed kitten delivery interstate, flights again are severely disrupted and out of every breeders control, please take this into account when searching for a new kitten

2. We are no longer accepting any persons into our home to look at and handle our available kittens, it will be via photos and short videos only

3. All buyers collecting a kitten will now be required to be fully vaccinated including a booster shot ( advised by Australian health guidelines )

4. Collection strictly via non contact as before through Alpha and Delta covid variants

5. Please respect our health policies to protect our cattery and vulnerable family members, any abuse will be reported and you will be deleted and banned from future contact

6. We are located on the NSW far south coast and our cattery can be messaged however……WE DO NOT RESPOND to any kitten detail questions on any of our posts, if you refuse to read our policy on this, you are not fit to take care of one of our beautiful ragdoll babies so please inform yourself before you make contact.
