Happy Underground Happy Underground is a human-scale market garden on the unceded lands of the Dhudhuroa people (Yackandandah).

We use fossil-fuel-free, low-input organic processes and hand labour to grow ripper veg for hyper-local eaters.

Happy Underground

Happy Underground is a human-scale, participatory market garden, growing utterly awesome, hand-tended produce for hyper-local eaters.

Chris McGorlick and Lauren Salathiel - former owners of Yackandandah’s Saint Monday eatery - have turned their attentions from serving food to growing it, and are bringing the community along for the ride. (No saddle sores involved, we promise!)

Against the backdrop of Mount Big Ben, on a piece of land borrowed from friends, and with a miscellany of well-loved, people-powered, hand-me-down tools at their disposal, the pair aims to further cultivate the fertile cultural foodscape that is Yackandandah.

Keep your eyes on this space, good people!
