A beautiful little Common Tree Snake relocated from a property in Sandstone Lakes a couple of days ago after being disturbed by a couple of puppies

Hey all! Last night I received a call out to Ningi/Bribie pines where we found an escaped pet snake! The little guy is safe in a holding tank currently but if you have lost your scaly friend please send me a message with your movement advise/ photos for proof of ownership

A little release video of a good sized Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) from Caboolture a couple of days ago, notice that both reactions it had towards me were due to me moving and although it had a "strike" it was a quick warning before escaping.

A few of little guys we have relocated from around Sandstone point and Bribie over the past couple of days 😊 just a friendly reminder that snakes are out and about looking for mates so very active! Please don't try to catch or harm snakes in any way, they are just as if not more scared of us than we are of them 😊

Hey everyone! So sorry for the lack of posting over the past few month, I've had a lot happening including a job change! I'm now in a dream job working with wildlife daily and it's wonderful!

We can't thank Australia zoo enough for helping us out with this little guy! We had a call to a property in Woorim where a customer had spotted the decent sized carpet python on their deck, after arriving I noticed it had eaten something and it felt odd, I was unsure what it could have been until right as I was about to leave the customer told me that her puppies leads and harnesses were missing, after a quick feel We were able to say for sure it was the missing leads!

He was brought straight up to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors wildlife hospital where they gave him the best care with the removal of the leads and recovery and had him released again in no tome! Hopefully away from harnesses this time 😂

A beautiful little Common Tree Snake (Dendrelaphis punctulata) from Banksia beach yesterday, this little guy was stuck under a bathroom door when I arrived so was jot the happiest fellow, I'm pretty sure he spent more time latched onto my hand then not 😂 after a bit of effort we got him unstuck and he was able to go on his way ba k in some nearby bushland

Stunning little Yellow Faced Whipsnake (Demansia psammophis) relocated from a bathroom in Ningi last night

Not really a snake you tend to get of a night so was a nice little surprise for me, better yet he was a bit on the cooler side so wad able to get some decent photos before he took off under a log

Such a cute face but packs a punch! This little Eastern Brown Snake wes relocated from Banksia beach last week, and though only a Juvenile still packs enough venom to put us in a hospital or if proper first aid isn't administered possibly worse.

There seems to be a few of these guys making their way around lately so remember if you are unsure what a snake is treat it as dangerous and contact your local snake catcher for identification and if needed Relocation

It's always a pleasure to come across these little guys!

We found this little White Crowned Snake (Cacophis harriettae) under a timber sleeper while doing a yard inspection at Beachmere a couple of days ago.

With these guys being a small nocturnal snake we don't tend to get too many calls for them! Though they are small they are a fun snake with plenty of attitude, usually putting on a fun defensive display where they will sit up and do dummy strikes with a closed mouth.

This afternoon we had a pet snake handed to us from Ningi

This snake is not a species found in the area and one commonly kept in the hobby. If you are missing a scaly friend feel free to send me a message with the type and your location

Will need proof of ownership to collect, if nobody claims in a few days it will be handed over the the correct authorities

We are free! After a long 7 days in isolation we are officially covid free and able to get back into the real world, although it seems a fair bit different from when we left with roads in shambles, floods everywhere and bare shelves in shops.

I hope everyone has stayed dry and safe over the past week with everything going on! It's great to see that there is now blue skies and the sun is out drying up what it can!

What an absolute unit of a snake! Easily the biggest Red Bellied Black Snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus) I've dealt with. This big guy was relocated from a house in Ningi this afternoon and when the customer said it was a decent size I was not expecting this size!

This guy would have been pushing the 6ft mark and when flared out was as thick as a 600mm bottle! Although huge this guy was a gental giant and would have been one of the most placid rbbs I've had to deal with.

How people think Eastern Brown Snakes will act when they see you vs what they actually do!

I received a call to a property in Wamuran yesterday where quite a large Eastern Brown Snake (Psuedonaja textilis) was stuck in someone's bathroom! The catch itself was nice and easy and not too eventful but I was able to get a good couple of videos

The first one is with me tailing the snake, waving around in front of it. This triggers the snakes fight or flight response and with me holding it there was no chance of escape so it had to defend itself. The video shows the typical response of an Eastern Brown, sitting up on an S position, open mouth and slight advancement. You can notice when I stop moving for a few seconds it settles down and starts to try get away.

It gives plenty of warning before the last few seconds where it strikes at me.

The second video is how an Eastern Brown will act when its not being held or cornered. No interest in me at all the only thing it's interested in is getting away to a place where it feels safe. I attempted to follow it further but within a minute it had take off well out of my sight.

Just like every other snake, Browns aren't out to get us, they will much rather flee then engage with us and the ony time they will attempt to bite is if they are taken by surprise or we have given them no way to escape.

Another roughie from Ningi! Woo! Well this proves that there is indeed a small population of the little guys!

I received an early morning call to a property in Ningi a couple of weeks ago where they saw a small dark coloured snake. The area they were in is a hotspot for Keelbacks so I thought I was going to just grab something harmless.

When i peeked up under the TV unit where it had gone I was pretty shocked to see it was another highly venomous Rough Scaled Snake (Tropidechis carinatus)!

He was happily relocated to some dense bushland away from houses.

BABIES!

We have finally hit the time where all of the next generations of scaled friends are emerging from their eggs and starting life!

Remember that even though these little hatches are adorable and seem so small they can sometimes be a bit harder to identify and if a venomous species, contain venom just as potent as their adult counterparts (Although the common myth that juveniles are more 'deadly' than adults is completely false)

If you spot a baby snake just remember that they can be a bit jumpy and defensive, so just like any snake keep a safe distance if possible and if you end up close to one just stand still until it moves on its way

You have to love these gorgeous little Brown Tree Snakes (Boiga irregularis)

These guys would have to be one of my favourite snakes to find, not just because of the comically large eyes and beautiful colours but because of their attitude! Most of these guys are ready biters and will defend themselves with and awesome display, rearing up and holding their ground!

As you can tell this little guy from Woorim wasn't too happy with me and decided to have a little chew on my finger while trying g to get some photos 😂 he was happily relocated into a fallen tree for some cover until the sun went down

This was the second time in the past few days that he was spotted in the yard so they decided it would be best for him to be moved on

Stunning Red Bellied Black Snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus) found on my street!

This little guy was spotted on the end of my street crossing the main road in Sandstone Point!

One of my neighbours quickly came and grabbed me to move him away from danger and luckily when I had arrived he had crossed the road without being hit by a car.

He was safely dropped into some nearby bushland to continue his day

A gorgeous little Coastal Carpet Python (Morelia spilota mcdowelli) from Caboolture this morning that had sadly gotten into a customer's aviary and eaten one of their little budgies.

To avoid this happening make sure your aviarys are snake proofed with the proper mesh and there are no gaps or holes that snakes can fit through.

One of the best looking Eastern Brown Snakes (Psuedonaja textilis) I have ever seen 😍

I was called to a property in Woorim for this little guy on Christmas Eve when the customers spotted him going for a little swim with the kids! Luckily the kids were able to avoid it and get out safety until I arrived to take away their visitor so they could enjoy their pool some more!

Sadly this guy will most likely lose his banding as he grows, but either way, it's one cracking snake 😍
