Sometimes the smallest souls have the biggest stories, and little Liberty’s story is nothing short of a miracle.
Weighing just 472 grams, this tiny fighter was discovered at a Hunter waste facility. Life had barely begun for him, but thanks to the compassionate team at the pound and your ongoing support, Liberty found his way to us.
Now renamed Dennis, this precious boy has landed in the loving arms of our amazing friend Jackie at Posh Pieces Hunter Valley. And after just 16 minutes in her care, one thing was clear: Dennis was HOME 💚 Once he gets stronger and healthier, he’ll have his vet work completed, ensuring he has the best start in life.

We are fighting for the lives of the cats that have been forgotten, living in overcrowded conditions, struggling to survive. These are the cats from the overcrowded property. Yes this mission is still going. Each heartbeat matters.
So far, we’ve desexed 31 adult cats and rescued 37 kittens, many of whom have faced unimaginable challenges—some with severe injuries, like Charlotte who lost her eye, and others who are scared, underweight, or simply distrustful of humans. That’s 68 heartbeats so far.
But with every step forward, they are learning that they *can* trust, that they *can* be safe. We’re giving them a future—a chance to live the life they deserve, filled with care, compassion, and love.

🐾 Meet Charlotte 🐾
Charlotte’s journey to HVAFARC began on a property where we’re helping over 50 cats. During one of our weekly desexing intakes, an unexpected call from the vet revealed that Charlotte had a severely ulcerated eye needing urgent attention.
There was no hesitation—her health and happiness came first. Thanks to the incredible team at Unique Vets, Charlotte underwent surgery to not only be desexed but also to have her damaged eye removed, finally relieving her from months of pain.
This resilient girl is now healing wonderfully and is ready to find her purrever home! She has a heart full of love and is hoping to spend her first Christmas with a family who adores her as much as we do.

Our cat rescue mission is always ongoing — not only working on the mission of our 50+ felines from one property. Yesterday, we received an urgent call from an Upper Hunter ranger about 5 tiny kittens in desperate need. Their mother had tragically passed away on Sunday, and she wasn't discovered deceased until Monday. The owner was struggling to feed the little ones, who were starving and just 4 weeks old. They had been without any real sustenance for 3 days.
Our dedicated team jumped into action and rushed out last night to bring these babies to safety. After some much-needed mush and milk, they’re finally settling in and getting the care they deserve.

🚨 PROJECT 50+ CATS 🚨
Last Friday was a big day. We welcomed mums #3, #4, #5, and #6 into care, along with 22 innocent babies. Each one was flea-treated, checked for any health issues, and given the love they've desperately needed. Some had gunky eyes and other problems that will require continued care.
Heartbreakingly, among the newest arrivals, there were three frail babies, far smaller and weaker than their siblings. Despite our best efforts, one passed away during assessment, and the other two slipped away within hours of being brought into our care. We did everything we could to give them a fighting chance, but they were simply too weak to go on. 💔
Now, time is of the essence. We know that three more litters were born just last week. They urgently need space and resources to come into care, and we are working around the clock to make it happen.
The silver lining? Our friends at Unique Vets and Maitland Large Animals in Huntlee have joined this mission, offering a massive discount on the desexing procedures we desperately need. We plan to start desexing the males ASAP, but we need to raise $2,000 to cover the already discounted costs and ensure we can afford the essential medical treatment these precious cats and kittens will need.
This is a rescue mission like no other. It is intense. It is heartbreaking. And it is necessary. We can't do it alone, though. We need every single one of you to stand with us.
In the next four weeks, 29 kittens will need loving homes, followed by another 18 kittens soon after that. And it's not just the little ones – the adult mums and other cats from the property will also need committed, forever homes.
Together, we can make a life-changing difference for these cats. Let’s show them the love, safety, and care they deserve.

Our first litter of kittens from the "Project Over 50 Cats" rescue is settling into care beautifully, as you can see in this video. These babies are already thriving with love and attention. 🐱💕
