We recently saw an anxious kitty who had just moved into a new apartment and had started urinating blood, with a condition known as feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC).

Part of the treatment that Dr Shanon recommended was the use of Feliway, a synthetic feline facial pheromone that helps to calm anxious cats. It's useful when moving home, adding a new pet to the house (or a new baby), if your cat starts urinating inside, excessively scratching furniture, or any other sudden changes to your anxious cat's normal routine.

The spray version can even be used on a towel or inside your cat carrier for trips to the vet!
