Peaceful Paws Privately owned and operated veterinary service providing dedicated dog and cat euthanasia at their home.

We can cover most areas Adelaide and Fleurieu Peninsula. Pets are family, and they deserve a farewell with comfort, peace and dignity at home. Ever since I was a child, pets have always been a big part of my life. Unfortunately their lives on earth are often more brief than ours... I became a vet to help and ‘fix’ animals, but I learnt that sometimes our greatest calling is to know when it is tim

e to end any further suffering/discomfort in a peaceful and respectful way. Servicing mainly Southern suburbs of Adelaide, Fleurieu and beyond, I offer compassionate and skilful home euthanasia of dogs and cats (rabbits and Guinea pigs too). Saying goodbye at home is often more comfortable and less stressful for your pet and for you, and they can be surrounded by all their loved ones. I can also arrange and provide transport for communal or private cremation, or they can be collected directly from your home.

At Peaceful Paws, we’re committed to providing the very best end-of-life care for beloved pets — gentle, compassionate, and dignified. 💚💜

This week, Dr. Henriette is overseas attending the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) Annual Conference in the USA ✈️🐶🐱.
She’ll be learning the latest insights, research, and innovations to ensure we stay at the fore-front of end-of-life care for pets and their families here in Adelaide. 🌍💫

While Dr. Henriette is away, Dr. Belinda is still right here and available to care for your pets with the same dedication and compassion. 🐾✨

Unfortunately it’s something I see all too often — dogs grieving the loss of a companion.
Just like us, they can struggle with the absence and need time to adjust to their new normal.

When possible, it can really help them to see or sniff their friend one last time. It gives them a chance to understand that their mate has gone, which can gently support their grieving process.

Please feel free to share this with friends or family who might be going through the loss of a pet and need some support or advice.

I’m always here for a chat if you’d like to talk about how best to support your family — including your other pets — during this heartbreaking time.

Do dogs grieve? Yes they do. End-of-life-care vet Dr. Woodruff discusses the signs of grieving and explains how to support a grieving dog.

They break our hearts when we have to say goodbye, but all the unconditional love and joy they gave us makes it all worth it. Life is just better with a dog/cat and we learn so much from them.

Dogs die. But before they do, they live.
They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families with unwavering loyalty. They love us with a fierceness that knows no bounds. They fill our days with joy, our homes with warmth, and our hearts with light.
Dogs don’t waste time worrying about tomorrow. They live fully in the moment—chasing balls, napping in sunbeams, and wagging their tails at the simple sound of our voices. They teach us how to love without conditions and how to find happiness in the little things.
So yes, dogs die. But before they do, they give us everything they have. And that’s why their love stays with us long after they’re gone.
Here’s to the dogs who live bravely, love deeply, and leave paw prints on our hearts forever. 🐾💖

Peaceful Paws - 2025 Update

🐾 Peaceful Paws - 2025 Update 🐾

As we step into 2025, we are so grateful and honored to have been providing at-home euthanasia for much-loved pets in Adelaide for over 4 years now. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’ve learned so much along the way. Every day, we continue to grow and improve so that we can provide the most peaceful, compassionate goodbyes for your pets.

✨ What’s New? ✨

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Belinda, a highly experienced and caring vet, to our team! The feedback has been fantastic, and we are lucky to have her on board. This addition allows us to offer more flexibility with additional available slots on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and weekends!

Behind the scenes, we have our wonderful vet nurse Leandra who ensures that all admin and cremation bookings run smoothly, so we can focus on providing the best care possible for your furry family members.

And as always, Dr. Henriette is still personally answering the phone herself, meaning there’s no call center – just direct access to a compassionate vet who is here to help and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for trusting Peaceful Paws with your pets’ final moments. We are committed to giving every pet the peaceful, loving farewell they deserve.
