A great idea used by one of our valued clients . All grains used for fermenting we can provide. Give it some thought in the hot summer coming up .

I have always been a big advocate of soaked fermented feeds chickens and chooks do well on it.

What do we feed our poultry?

AM: breakfast is whole grain fermented feed (sooooo good for chickens!) with garlic chips, parsley, chili (herbs vary depending on what is available but these are our stables) and livamol (fantastic vitamin supplement)

PM: wheat grass or sprouted seeds and legumes and twice a week they get mackerel and diced vegetables.

Especially while penned for breeding a variety of feeds that replicate as close to what they would be consuming while foraging is so important to us. Making sure they receive their nutrition from a range of live, real, whole grain and unprocessed foods is our feeding philosophy. It’s not a totally organic, non GMO etc etc diet but it’s achievable and it works. Plus I think they eat better then us sometimes 😆🙈

Been asked by a few customers what do I do after excessive wet to help my chooks .

Like ourselves a good feed of warm wet mash is great after slopping around in mud. Throw plenty of lime on mud let it dry then once mud gone in with new litter of preference .

Chooks then could do with a good worm. In a week you won't know them will go off lay but will be back

Well I hope you all are safe and your animals of course. Here in Narangba we have had just on 500 for the past few days with more to come.

Others to the north have had more even close to double that . I have obviously cancelled all deliveries since yesterday morning and thanks for your patience and tolerance in discussing with you.

Will be straight out once safe and accessible first two days will be a run up to eumundi and down to Jimboomba . With all all this most of next week will be catch up .

I will get to you and if you need to slip to produce do so to get you over. Stay safe and will be in contact.

Our garden geese loving the new all grain mix we have on offer. A great mix sorghum and barley free so no fillers . Corn, wheat, oats, lupins and sunflower about 15% protein great soaked overnight on these hot days . Keep your hens cool on the inside . With some lucerne meal we also supply it makes a nourishing growing mix to supplenent the poultry grower or a refreshing change for the layer.
