Frequently Asked Questions

About us:
We are a family of four who live in Capel Sound, Mornington Peninsula. Your oodle/poodle will be loved just like our Daisy and Scarlett. Our Daisy and Scarlett sleeps on our bed and will love any fur friends next to them. Daisy and Scarlett have access to a doggy door 24 hours a day. We have a fully secure fenced & Safe backyard with plenty of space for playtime and opposite our home is a fully fenced doggy park where lots of oodles go for walks /playtime.

What’s the next step after getting in touch with us?
After you have enquired we set up a meet and greet before any first booking as its important our doggies get along and they get to know us. If all goes well we will send you a booking form to fill in with terms and conditions to agree too. First night to paid to secure. (No booking is confirmed till deposit paid and form filled in). School Holidays to be paid in full before first day of arrival. Other times remainder to be paid 3 days prior to pick up.

Do we do other breeds?
Sorry no, as we specialize in looking after Oodle breeds and poodles only.

What happens to your Oodle while with us?
Your oodle/poodle is well loved and cared for in a clean, safe environment. They will get to snuggle on the couch or lie on us when watching tv. They can either sleep on our bed, around our bed on the floor or living room. If crate trained they will be placed in the kitchen and or living room (this can be discussed at the meet and greet as important to us your happy with your furbaby sleeps at night). Your dogs will have access to a doggy door all day/night for playtime, toileting and drinking water. They get brushed daily and given treats (however if sensitive to certain treats/food please supply some so they don’t miss out).

What happens if you don't want your oodle/poodle going to the fully enclosed dog park?
We would do a lead walk on the walking track path across from our home which is next to the doggy park. A separate time to the other oodles playtime at the doggy playtime. We understand that each Oodle/poodle has different needs which we cater for what work for them.

Should I have my oodle/poodle groomed before the stay?
Its recommended that your Oodle/Poodle be groomed before stays longer than a few days, This way they feel clean and comfortable and can enjoy there time, We maintain there coats by daily or twice daily brushing and happy to apply a coat gloss or conditioner as well.
We can also arrange with our fantastic local groomer to have your Furbaby groomed with us, Just advise us 4-6 Weeks prior to the stay if you require this service and we can arrange. (This is popular for stays of 4-6 weeks or if your not able to get groomed prior to drop off date)

What happen's if where out for a while?
There will be other oodles/poodles to play with here, a doggy door access for toileting and if your pooch is not used to a doggy door we ensure they go before we head out. No longer than 2-3 hours left inside.

What food will they eat while here?
We require all their food to be provided for there whole stay portioned up for each day. As some oodles/poodles are sensitive to certain foods. Through their stay we give kangaroo/liver treats.
If they are sensitive to these please provide own treats as we don't want them missing out.

What communication do we do through each stay?
We are always in touch with owners throughout your pooches stay daily even if the page is not updated. It's important to us to keep the owners updated on how their furbabys stay is going.

My dog can get a bit anxious, can they stay at Oodles and Poodles Mornington Peninsula?
Of course!, We are happy sit or hold, Give pats and reassurance with your Furbaby and help them feel at ease and settle in, we can also provide regular daycare once a week or every 2nd week to build there confidence . In the instance of a long stay would recommend a doggy daycare stay or dog sitting overnight stay before any big stays with us so they can become familiar.

What are the prices?
Please enquire with us, we are also happy to send a tax invoice with a quote for you.

How does feeding your dogs go?
We feed Separately to ensure your dog gets to enjoy there meal, and ensure that no one else Has a test of your Oodles meal as they can be cheeky like that 😊 - We also take into consideration any intolerances as well and accommodate for this.

What to bring to our home?
Dog food, food bowl, bed, lead , feel free to bring their favorite toys however please remember some toys can get used quite a bit may not make it home due to dogs playing with it. 😊
