A huge congratulations to Brett and Zeke on passing their BH last weekend.

What makes this result particularly special is that we’ve had the privilege of working with Zeke since he was just 8 weeks old. From those early puppy sessions through to trial preparation, Brett has consistently put in the work, week after week, year after year.

The feedback from the trial was that it was one of the standout BH performances of the day, reflecting both Zeke’s quality and Brett’s dedication to the training process.

Titles are earned on the trial field, but they’re built through countless training sessions, early mornings, problem-solving, consistency, and trust between handler and dog.

We’re incredibly proud of both of them and excited to see what comes next.

Well done, Brett and Zeke. 👏

Rico is currently with us under our Lifestyle Pathway - Board & Train program.

With Rico, his program is centred around his impulse control, particularly in his interactions with people and other dogs. That’s where he can get ahead of himself and make poor decisions.

He is really settling in well and making great progress!

Raf is not even 12 months old, and this is his third Board & Train.

This isn’t three separate fixes. It’s a planned progression with each program timed around his development, with small adjustments along the way, and at times aligned with the owner’s holidays and travel.

If you saw where he started to where he is now, you wouldn’t believe it’s the same dog.

When Raf first came in, he found a lot of situations difficult. From being approached, handled, and even getting a lead on. He would shut down at times and react very defensively.

The change in him since then has been significant.

More broadly, what we’re seeing with this breed at the moment is that the defensive nature they’re known for is being pushed further than people expect. Dogs are coming through more sensitive, quicker to misread situations, and faster to escalate.

That’s where people get caught out. Without early guidance, those traits begin to take over and drive the dog’s behaviour.

What Raf’s owners have done well is step in early and stay consistent. They’ve been proactive and committed to his development, rather than waiting for problems to show up.

When that happens, you get a very different outcome - a dog that can settle, process what’s in front of them, and move through the world in harmony.

We’ve seen Cane Corsos like that - stable, capable dogs but they don’t happen by chance.

Raf is a good example of what happens when a clear plan is put in place and followed through.

Private lesson with Tommy.

With a young puppy, every outing is an opportunity to shape how they understand the world.

In this session, we’re being proactive with that process. New environment, people nearby, dogs in the area and all worked through in a way that helps Tommy build positive associations while learning to stay engaged with his owner.

The goal isn’t just “obedience.” It’s developing a dog that can think, engage, and work with his handler around real-life distractions.

So within the session, we’re mixing play, engagement, exposure, and obedience together - basic positions, loose lead walking, recall, and the early foundations of precision heeling.

Just as importantly, Tommy’s owner is learning how to continue that development outside the lesson. Timing, handling, awareness, and knowing how to help him through different situations all matter.

Getting in early with the right education and application gives you the opportunity to guide development correctly, building a stable, capable, and confident dog before the wrong responses become ingrained.

Kodi is currently with us for his second Board & Train program!

We worked with him last year and built a great foundation. This program is a continuation of that work. He’s a dog that is super safe, content in himself, and has a real love of play that makes training sessions a pleasure.

He’s developing into exactly what this breed should be, and we’re proud to be part of that journey.
