The two German Shepherds shown here did not avoid a tiger snake after being given fake canine snake avoidance by a serial trademark infringer here in Melbourne, Victoria.
The trademark infringer has advertised on Facebook and continues to do so!
Lucky for both the dogs and the owner we successfully retrained them and a year later, neither dog have gone near a venomous snake, although they have had many opportunities to do so.
But as a warning, if a dog has been zapped by a so-called dog trainer to avoid non-venomous snakes with training methods that are in our view far from optimal, even the best dog trainers in Victoria may not always be able to repair the damaged goods.
Proper canine snake avoidance training really depends on the dog being trained properly the first time in order to give the highest chances of success.
