Flexi leash History

How it all started

Pictured below is the original wooden design of the flexy leash.

The inventor of the flexi leash was a German man named Manfred Bogdahn in 1972.

His comment about how the idea came about

"I have always had dogs at home. Although I loved them all, I do have one who stands above the others. Purzel! She was my pride and joy. She was an explorer, always out and about investigating the world around us, which became a problem while she was on heat. One afternoon, it was a warm summer day in 1972, I was taking her for a walk when suddenly an idea struck me like a flash of lightening …"

Pictured below is the original wooden design of the flexy leash.

A woman named Mary has been given credit for the flexy leash but she was NOT the inventor. She was the first to patent the design.

Retractable flexi leashes are designed and produced in a family business located in Bargteheide near Hamburg Germany. Over 300 employees work there in Germany and in over 90 different countries.

We worked with Teddy the extraordinary Cavalier.

We worked on some place training as Teddy has developed some resource guarding issues that make him hard to managed around dogs and his special Hoomans.

We also popped him on a slip Collar and long lead to help with his pulling whilst on walks.

The gorgeous Armani had a one on one session last week working some simple tasks that Armani had some how made hard.

We worked on getting into the car and also started to teach her some stay commands.

She did an amazing job with her owners.

WINCHELSEA - Sunday’s 9.30am

We work on the Big 3 being…

1. Loose lead walking.

2. Being able to have your dog lay down when at a Cafe or busy area.

3. Come when called

Within these walking sessions we will work on basic lead control, obedience and socialisation.

Classes run for one hour and in all weather (apart from extreme rain and lightning).

If you dog isn't overly social PM us to discuss how we can get you there.

Dogs of all sizes are welcome as all dogs will be on lead at all times.
