Hi everyone,
Today is our last official day with Aussie Pooch so we would like to thank you once again for allowing us to pamper your pooches over the past 22 years. It’s been a privilege and an honour to know you and your dogs and we miss you.
We are settling into retirement (having lots of nanny naps) and getting to know our new normal.
Unfortunately, we have not been successful in finding anyone to work in the business but Aussie Pooch will keep up the search to find the right person for the job. Naomi is working in Seven Hills and Prospect but is confined to those suburbs.
Lots of love and best wishes to you all and thank you once again.

Good Morning to our Pet Loving Community!

Urgent help required to identify and locate the owners of this sweet little guy:

He is microchipped to a Cowra address and we can not get a hold of his owner!!

He is a Cocker Sp x Beagle, MN, found on side of road in Castle Hill (Showground Rd x Green Rd) and unable to walk.
He has sustained some unknown trauma, no witnesses and was brought in by police this morning at 7am.

If you recognise this sweet guy, please contact us asap!

𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪....

😲 That a lot of fussy dog behaviour can be reduced and even eliminated by getting rid of your dog's bowl.

🍽 Feeding on a flat surface is favoured by a lot of dogs. Ceramic is also often preferred over plastic. Plastic harbours micro-cracks that harbour bacteria 🦠 so, it's best to ditch those.

🧹 Bowls should be washed after each meal otherwise they can get a biofilm build-up that is not only unhealthy but can be aversive to some sensitive dogs.

📞 If your dog has an ID tag on their collar that hits the bowl as they eat, this can be an advantage to some more sensitive dogs.

🔼 Feeding Large+ and older/disabled dogs from shoulder height can make things more comfortable for them and encourage them to eat well.

🧐 Fussy dog behaviour is often unknowingly encouraged by the pet parent, so have a look at your behaviour relating to the dog's behaviour. Putting the food down for 15 minutes and then taking it away until the next meal will often reset behavioural fussy dog stuff within 1-2 weeks.

🤢 Some dogs may say no to some foods because they know it's not going to make them feel well. Keeping a food diary of what you feed your dog, their behaviour and what their poos look like over the next 1-2 days can be a good way of investigating this.

The annual Blacktown City Pet Festival will be returning on Sunday 15 October from 10 am to 2 pm.

We have teamed up with Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre to get tails wagging at the new venue, 20 Owen Street, Glendenning.

Owners and their furry, feathery or scaly friends alike will unite for an action packed day, celebrating pets and the families who love them.

There will be a bunch of activities on the day including:

🐾 pet caricatures
🐾 micro-chipping (Blacktown City residents only)

** PARALYSIS TICK WARNING ** Paralysis ticks are out in force and vets in tick areas are reporting many cases.

Paralysis ticks are found along Australia's eastern seaboard, and are the single most dangerous parasite for dogs on the East Coast, with one tick capable of causing paralysis and death.

PLEASE talk to your vet about the best prevention for your pet and if you live in a tick area, check your pets daily. Tick paralysis is one of the most heartbreaking ways to lose a pet; please be diligent... and remember paralysis ticks can affect cats as well as dogs.

Please be extra careful if you travel anywhere with your dog and are used to living in a non tick area - it is easy to get caught out!
