What are the benefits of swimming for dogs with arthritis?
Swimming is excellent for dogs with arthritis since it is low-impact and minimal weight-bearing. Because swimming increases oxygen and blood flow to affected areas, it can reduce inflammation and pain.
It is also beneficial for dogs with difficulty walking to swim, especially if they need to lose weight. They can burn calories, keeping their joints moving without causing impact on their joints.
As well as increasing muscle mass, swimming can help dogs that suffer from muscle atrophy due to immobility and disease.
As with everything, moderation is key. When starting your dog with water exercise, a hydrotherapy clinic can be helpful as experts can guide you.

Horses can suffer from different types of arthritis.
🏇🏽Traumatic
The cause of traumatic arthritis can be a strain or complete tear of a ligament, tendon, or capsule, often occurring from an accident or a fall.
🏇🏽Rheumatic
There may be congenital causes or secondary causes, such as improper shoeing and maltreatment. Growing bones and cartilage can be damaged by repeated mini-traumas to the joints, such as those caused by a young horse working too hard too early, for example, repeated landings on hard ground. Some predisposing factors include unbalanced or inadequate nutrition, lack of trace minerals, or a compromised immune system.
🏇🏽Osteoarthritis
One of the most common causes of lameness in horses is osteoarthritis. It is also called degenerative joint disease.
Several factors can lead to osteoarthritis, including:
* Damage caused by daily wear and tear.
* An excessive amount of force is in repetitive motions.
* Conformation is poor
* Age
* Excessive workload
The symptoms of osteoarthritis include chronic cartilage degeneration, thickening of the subchondral bone, and swelling. Joints affected include hocks, knees, stifles, and fetlocks, but it can affect any joint.
🏇🏽Septic
Infection occurs when microorganisms penetrate the joint. Generally occurs from intraarticular injections, wounds, or surgical procedures, usually affecting the knee or hock. As a result of septic arthritis, lameness tends to increase rapidly. Depending on the horse's age, immune status, and the type or amount of infective microorganisms, the severity of this condition may vary.
As a serious condition, septic arthritis must be treated immediately by a veterinarian. The horse may also restrict its future career due to complications such as laminitis, tendinitis, and osteoarthritis caused by septic arthritis.

Let's go for a walk with the puppy.
A new puppy is an exciting addition to your family.😍
When introducing exercise and walks, keep a few things in mind.
Puppies grow and develop during the first two years of their life. Over-exercising your puppy may harm it. Only exercise your puppy to the extent that it feels comfortable doing so. You shouldn't force it! Give the puppy a chance to pace itself. Monitor for signs of fatigue, such as panting, slower movements, reduced energy, and a reluctance to keep going. When you see these signs, it is time to stop and take a break. Remember, you should always listen to your puppy's cues and adjust the exercise accordingly. Provide water during and after walking to keep your puppy hydrated and healthy. Talk to your vet to determine the right amount of exercise for your puppy, as every breed and individual is different.
Finally, remember to reward your puppy for its efforts!🤎
These two are too cute!😍
