Teddy can be quite nervous going to the vet to have his nails clipped. Visiting him at his home meant his owner could be there to distract him with peanut butter while I got to work cutting his nails with a low stress electric file.
His nails are all successfully cut back and he was able to relax at home once it was done ❤️
Well done Teddy!

Hi everyone, my name is Dr. Su-en and I have worked as a vet in Gippsland since 2018, during which I've treated both farm and domestic animals.
I also have experience working in a mobile clinic servicing the Latrobe Valley, which allowed me to see the convenience and ease that pets and their owners enjoyed. Furthermore, I had the honour of providing many peaceful end-of-life services for older animals at home, where they are most comfortable.

A true passion of mine is all things snakes and reptiles. I've worked with them in a range of settings for the past 10 years, from a wildlife education presenter, commercial breeding and at with the leading reptile veterinarian specialists in the country.
I provide lots of services to help our reptilian friends, from husbandry set up and maintenance, sexing and pet sitting.

This holiday season has been so busy between the business and family time, I forgot to write up a post!
Thank you to everyone who has supported this business starting up over the past year.
I started this as a way to keep working whilst juggling life with my daughter, Lara.
She comes with me often and loves helping look after all your wonderful pets too (her favourite part is offering balls to dogs to play with and patting the cats 😆).
I have been blown away by how understanding and kind all of my clients are with us whether I've rocked up to your house with her in the baby carrier, or running along next to me. I truly appreciate everyone's business, sharing and liking posts and on facebook and much more! It means so much to be able to have started this up 11 months ago, and to see where it has evolved in such a short time has been very special. Even more to have done so with my little side kick by my side the whole time too 🐾

A busy Christmas/New Year's period pet sitting these gorgeous pets 🐾
Starting off a very busy holiday period with giving this old girl Bella a nail clip. She suffers from arthritis and isn't able to scratch on a scratching post as often, this mean her claws were quite retained and needing a good cut back.
Bella is 18 years old!! I think she looks pretty good for her age ❤️

Melbourne Cup Long Weekend Petsitting was jam packed!!
I had a blast taking care of so many beautiful pets while their owners were away enjoying the long weekend 🐾
Lilly ❤️ This very special old girl had a boarding stay with me over the past few days. She was treated like one of the family while she stayed. She is on a few ongoing medications and care requirments, and settled into my home with ease (she loved cuddles on the couch 🥰).
I am now offering boarding stays. At this stage I am only able to take on small dogs.

Both had their first ever nail trims yesterday. They were so good and enjoyed the peanut butter distraction!
As it was their first ever nail trim, it was important to make it a positive experience so they don't become fearful of the process. They both were very brave and did a fantastic job!!
George the JRT 🐶
George is quite the timid boy and unfortunately suffers from chronic ear infections. Due to being so timid, he really struggles going to the vet and having his ears treated. I have been travelling to him, and helping his owner keep his ears clean, in the comfort of his own home. Regular ear cleaning helps avoid an infection developing in the first place. This means he doesn't need to go to the vet as often. We are using a go slow approach to build George's confidence and get him used to his ears being touched and treated.
Each visit he gets a little more relaxed about the process. I'm so proud of George with how far he has come already ❤️
Oscar and Polly 🐕🐕
I got to know these two gorgeous pooches very well recently while their owners were away.
They were kept busy with lots of enrichment and cuddles, play, brushing and walks.
They both were such a blast to look after 💕
Jet 🐾
Jets owners were travelling to the area and needing someone to look after their pooch while they attended an event recently.
Jet was treated to the dog nanny service. He received one on one care from pickup to drop off.
We went for an adventure to the Edward Hunter reserve in Moe, where we relaxed and watched the ducks. He then got to kick back at my home with me where we played his favourite game (fetch!), and did some fun enrichment puzzles to keep his mind active and busy! When it was time to go home, he was given his dinner and tucked into bed before his owners got back 🐕

Petsitting is one of my most popular services here. I come to your house to feed, clean up after, provide some love and attention while you are away. I can also administer medication for them too.

The secret to clipping your dogs nails at home... keep them busy!! I often get asked by clients how to get their dog used to having their nails clipped at home. Many dogs can get very stressed and resist their feet being touched entirely. The key is patience, going slow and rewarding your dog for small steps along the way. A game changer to getting nails trimmed right back (without cutting the quick and risking bleeding!) Is a Dremel, or any electric nail file. This allowed you to safely file back the nail until you reach the quick. A licky mat smeared with peanut butter is also amazing to keep them busy and distracted while you do your thing! Working on some loose leash walking, engagement and solid foundations with Theo today 🐶 Theo is a wonderful handsome pup who just loves to please. He is quite reactive to dogs around him, so we are working on reducing his reaction around other dogs 🐕
Loose Leash Walking! Our client reached out as they are having trouble walking their two very excitable dogs together! Both dogs are usually pulling to the full extension of the lead and sniffing around. To the point they have pulled their owner over!! Today we focused on laying down the foundations with separate sessions with each dog first, before we worked our way up to practising walking them together like this. After one lessons today, we have seen significant improvement in their loose leash walking! Next step, keeping this up in a distracting environment and more solo drills! Lets talk Nails! 💅 Lets face it, not all pets sit cooperatively like my dog Titan for their mani pedi.. Believe it or not, but Titan was scared of the noise of the clippers when i got him and he really hated his nails being clipped. You can see him still displaying some anxious behaviours in this video, such as yawning and lip licking, however this is a HUGE improvement. Desensitisation to this is something we worked on slowly, with the aim to be able to calmly cut his nails in a stress free manner. If this is something your pet struggles with, i am availble around Gippsland to come and clip your pets nails (This includes dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and guinea pigs, even your bearded dragons' nails!). During this appoitnment i will give you some tips and tricks on how to work with your pet to be able to start cutting your pets nails at home yourself.
