Ace ~ 1year old male looking for a family home who likes a walk, hanging out on the back doorstep, gardening, and playing in puddles.

As suggested by its name, the Border Collie had its origins in the border country between Scotland and England. The breed can be traced back in excess of 300 years. Introduced into Australia in 1901, and despite not being an “Australian Breed”, it is recognised that Australia is the Country of Development for the Border Collie.

Intelligent, athletic and faithful, with a desire to please, Border Collies are very much “people dogs”, but boredom through being left alone all day may result in the dog finding things to occupy its time which may not be to your amusement.

Borders are a suitable breed for someone who is prepared to exercise them on a regular basis. The breed grows quickly and may be a little too energetic for very young children or elderly people. Active adults or older children make more suitable owners for this breed. As with all dogs, young children and dogs should never be left unsupervised.

Could my dog owning friends please sign this petition to get rid of this poison? It is widely used around Australia and not just in national parks and on farms. It can be indiscriminately spread from anywhere by crows and dropped where pet dogs can pick it up and be poisoned. There is NO ANTIDOTE for 1080 so even if you see your dog eat it, it won’t be saved by rushing to the vet. Dogs die a horrible death. Thank you ❤️
