This is a sad story. Our beautiful Bella grew her wings tonight and always in Bella style, with no fuss, all on her own. Bella has a beautiful story. She was actually the first dog to start us off after a tragic event. One night in winter, late in the evening, I remember I got a call from a security guard at some industrial sheds. A dog had been dumped and seemed to be beaten. So In natural form I went alone to recuse this dog. You see this dog came into my life at a time when I was broken at the time I didn’t think I needed her but obviously I did. I drove up and this black dog looked at me. I thought this could be dicey. I said hey girl I won’t hurt you, I opened the car door and bent down. She came out of the shadows and jumped straight in. The rest for us really is history. Bella was such an integral part of the rescue, she was the hub, the matriarch, she was the teacher to the puppies and the calmer to the over excited. I am so thankful to you coming into my life and will never forget you. Please hold a seat for me at the table my girl ❤️

Nyx is needing a foster career to further her search for the perfect family. Nyx will need to be the only dog and absolutely no other animals. Nyx is blind but she is trying an eye drop treatment which needs to be given twice Dailey. Nyx is fabulous with humans and loves the car but she is just to stressed at the sanctuary with all the other dogs. If you could help or know anyone who can please get in touch with us via DM.

Today Nyx achieved a huge milestone! Going from a blind and scared dog, to walking side by side with her buddy, Vargas. If you had seen our other videos of Nyx, she is dog reactivate, there is a big difference between aggression and fear, so building her confidence is most important . I couldn’t be more proud of her right now.

Today we received some amazing news!! We have been given the opportunity to try a treatment that could potentially help renew Nyx's sight. This particular treatment has had previous success, so we are feeling excited and hopeful. At this stage we will do anything it takes to give Nyx the best chance we can.

As always, a huge thank you to Yamanto Veterinary Surgery. The team always go above and beyond for Waggy Tails Dog Rescue, and all our dogs. Feeling like we have some light at the end of the tunnel for gorgeous Nyx!!

Today Nyx and I went to training these guys was where I learnt how to train with there wonderful help today we believe Nyx will do great !! We can’t say how important it is to have a great trainer and that waggy’s believe determining fear vs aggression, strategies are to focus on training the basics, no matter a dog that is blind or sighted, by having clear and consistent expectations balances the dog, clarifies you are the leader and that you will keep them safe. Once Nyx knows her leader has her back, her fear and need to defend herself should subside. Our aim is for her to loose her anxious self and become a balanced and confident dog. We also have to thank who are helping us find her the perfect home.

So today’s update on Quinn she has now been transferred to our wonderful team she is still very flat and unwell we will check in on her again this afternoon and maybe sneak in a visit for some cuddles💔💓

So things just got a bit worse for our week, little Quinn has to have several tests as the vets are unsure of what’s going on but could be her little bowel. She is in for a rough night our estimated bill is $1,500 to $1,800 we don’t ask for help often but this week is not our week. Meet Nyx! She has been on a journey with a story to tell. She is 6 years old and has lived most of her life with sight, until she got paninis. This is a condition that can lead to blindness and unfortunately we can’t save Nyx's sight. This has become a personal challenge for me as not only are German Shephards a love of mine, but Nyx has also made her way not only into my heart, but also all those she meets .

Imagine having full sight, and then slowly going blind. Imagine how the world around you would change. Well this is how Nyx is feeling!! Life is scary, the world is scary.

Nyx is super smart but we need to help her relearn to love a new life without sight. Nyx is great with humans and absolutely loves her chew toy and walks. Unfortunately, she is definitely not dog friendly and can get anxious. We are trying some anxiety medication along with training, and I am confident this will help, however we know the road ahead will be a huge challenge.

We need your help! We are wanting to take Nyx to a trainer which may be the last chance she will have. I won’t give up yet, and we have had no replies from anyone to take Nyx on. We know times are tough but if you could at least share her story so we can give this all we have. The sad thing for me is that she can’t just run free with my pack and live the life she deserves. We are thinking of a “go fund me page” or possibly donations to our trainers, which we go to next Saturday. We are the Waggy’s family and I know you are all our best advocates, so now is the time we need YOU 💖💚🐾

So today I turned 40 and although this is not about dogs today, I do want to say since I was a young child I always wanted to do something amazing to save animals and help people understand the value of having an animal in their life 🐾
There is a lot about me people don’t know and something I battle with is panic disorder. In the recent months I decided that it was so important to focus on oneself and never be ashamed of having a mental illness. Someone very special to me told me that today. If you need help always ask. I am extremely lucky to have a wonderful family and extended waggy family. But something we want to explore in 2021 is waggy’s helping people who suffer from a mental illness to bring their dog to our sanctuary once a month to TALK AND JUST LISTEN TO EACH OTHER. We even think it’s super important we match the right pup for any family but especially for someone who suffers from a mental illness. What we want to know is if you, our waggy’s family think this is a good idea and if anyone would like to get on board with our team via a message. 💚🐾

Bugg was adopted almost one year ago but this week she is the big ONE. Bug was adopted by not only is she super lucky but she is loved by so many in her family can not thank you enough for loving her with all your heart and soul. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUG you sure are one lucky pup 🐾❤️

These two beautiful border collie x babies were adopted together oh sibling love
