Gorgeous Goose got himself into a spot of bother and hurt his eye this morning. Thankfully the damage is minimal and with some treatment he should be back to normal in no time. It hasn’t slowed him down at all!!

I hope that you are all looking forward to wonderful Easter break with your pets and that you have your chocolate well out of their reach!

I will be away from Easter until 6th May. We do have a locum who is able to offer some limited coverage during my absence. She will be available for ongoing management of existing cases - mostly on a Wednesday.

The phone will be manned by our fabulous vet nurse Karen, during business hours. Please text rather than phone where possible. If you are an existing client and need to contact me for advice, please use Facebook messenger (Tamar Mobile Vet).

I’ve been in touch with many of you who have pets with regular medication requirements to ensure that you have enough for this period. Please let me know in the next couple of days if there is anything that you need.

If you are a Tamar Mobile Vet client and do not have another vet that you use for your pet’s Clinic based requirements, please let me know, so that we can plan for some options if your pet needs more significant veterinary assistance during this period.

I’m sure that many of you are aware of how busy Vets are at the moment, due to increased demand and shortages of Veterinary staff.

We frequently struggle to balance our desire to help as many pets and people as possible, while also being able to maintain a good level of service to our current patients.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I do need to close my books to new clients.

The exception to this is end of life care and home euthanasia; it’s important that people have access to this option for their pets.

Thank you for understanding - I will definitely reassess the situation in a few months and hope to be available to new clients again then.

Just a reminder about tick prevention. I’ve seen lots of ticks already, so I suspect it’s likely to be a bad season.

There is also a nationwide shortage of tick antiserum, so preventing tick paralysis is even more important.

Please get in touch if you are unsure about appropriate products for your pet. Leah At The Feed Shed and the team at Exeter Farm & Feed will also be able to give you a hand.
