The mutation in this gene is associated with edema, or swelling due to fluid retention, in the airways, which exacerbates respiratory issues. Hollywood Bulldogs AUS are leading the way in Breeding a Healthier and Happier Breed A Guardian Home program allows us to continue to follow the Guidance of the MDBA BREEDING FOR HEALTH GENETIC ACTION PLAN and continue to improve the health of this precious breed while ensuring our pups and dogs still benefit from the 1 on 1 love and attention provided by a Loving family home How Does a Guardian Home work? As a guardian home, you are the permanent home for one of our breeding dogs while they are in our program. Once they are retired, full ownership will transfer to the guardian family and they will get to keep the dog forever. A male Guardian means the stud will be collected when a mating is upcoming taken to the vet and his semen collected and then returned immediately returned home A female guardian can be a little bit more involved as she is collected when on heat for prog testing and ultimately insemination and then just prior to birth taken and remain with us for the 4 week whelping period Please note legally British Bulldogs are only allowed a maximum of 3 litters Whats the Benefit to You? Becoming a Guardian Home gives you the opportunity to have one of our puppies who are VERY SPECIAL in terms of improving the health of the Breed not just in Australia but worldwide as a family at a reduced cost to you! Similarly the expectation would be that you would benefit from having a healthier dog and reduced health problems There are also financial incentives in the case of both males and females both when the dogs are used for breeding and also when they reture from breeding.
