Stray cat attacked by a dog and unfortunately suffering tick paralysis. With no microchip and no family to be found , fortunately he ended up in my hands and was able to be given a chance , He had tick antiserum and the punctures on his hand stitched up. A friend called him Salem and when he has fully recovered hopefully he can find a family 🐾♥️

And yet another Heartbreaking story of a life I couldn’t save. I fought long and hard for Little Ricky and he was a bloody superstar. Unfortunately he stopped growing and his curved spine became more and more painful and he was giving up , so it was time to give him what he deserved and set him free 😞

This cat was trapped for days, hungry , petrified and probably quiet angry.
cats are introduced, they hunt and kill our natives , is it their fault? No
With his wild tendencies his future wouldn’t be bright , so obviously I bought him home to see if I can rehabilitate, desex and home him into a responsible cat owners home 🌈

We had another dog attack this week
Luckily for him , he had 48 hours on IV fluids , wounds cleaned and flushed and is on antibiotics , doesn’t mean he is out of the woods but let’s cross our fingers and toes. Thanks Kat for calling him in

It’s been a month since I lost Oakley, It was a long battle and we took an unsuccessful last chance at getting him through .. Oakley was taken from him mum by a dog in Tura Beach and tormented , grabbed shook and let go several times. Oakley got severe infection from the bacteria in the dogs mouth but also when a kangaroo is chased or stressed they can get something called myopathy with in the short form is caused by stress or exertion and this willl kill them , We are having so many call outs at the moment for dog attacks , if the dog doesn’t kill it is still so important for the animal to come into care for the chance to be saved , the only way of saving an animal from myopathy is putting them on IV fluids as soon as possible.

I struggled so much with this little boys health , he was getting all the right care extra nutrition but nothing had seemed to change ! He was finally treated for blood parasite caused by ticks as a suggestion from cobargo wildlife sanctuary and in a couple of weeks look at the difference .. we never had issues with blood parasite in this area but we unfortunately do now , so if you see a kangaroo that seems unwell please call a wildlife carer because it can be fatal!

Holly's journey ended yesterday and I am deffinatly more then broken. She was released with my mob at the beginning of the year and came home recently very unwell. After fighting hard for two weeks Dr. Howard did some investigating and her heart and kidneys were failing her. She's at peace now on kangaroo island were her fate resides. I can rest knowing we did our best for Holly and she trusted me enough to come home to say goodbye 😓

Another Long weekend , another life saved. It's never a good sign when you turn up at a rescue and this is what you see. Fortunately this was a dislocation of the ankle joint , with some rehabilitation , love and some bloody long hours , we will hopefully successfully get this beautiful baby back to the wild.
