Today we welcomed Celine into our little covey. She is a silkie bantam chicken and it will be her job to eat and recycle all the larger veggie and fruit scraps that the quails are not interested in. Welcome little Celine xx

Laying hens now available

Quails fossicking for bugs and egg shell. Egg shells should always be finely crushed to feed back to chickens ( to prevent them from opening and eating their own eggs ) but I have never had a problem with quails so I give the shells straight back to them as I find they prefer this over calcium blocks or cuttlebone which is already available in their feed station. Let me know your experiences with feeding eggshell 🥚

EGGS Quail do need to be kept secure in an enclosure for safety from predators but they also feel safest when they have lots of nest boxes, hides holes and cover. I do not keep my quail in quail cages or battery cages but in a walk in aviary allowing them space to roam while being protected.

Some fresh quail eggs ready to cook 👩‍🍳. Ditch the sad shop eggs and try something much better quality. Great for baking or eating as a meal. Egg whites hold up well. For orange yolks feed a high amount of green veggies in addition to the high protein game bird food.
