Today we welcomed Celine into our little covey. She is a silkie bantam chicken and it will be her job to eat and recycle all the larger veggie and fruit scraps that the quails are not interested in. Welcome little Celine xx

Quails fossicking for bugs and egg shell. Egg shells should always be finely crushed to feed back to chickens ( to prevent them from opening and eating their own eggs ) but I have never had a problem with quails so I give the shells straight back to them as I find they prefer this over calcium blocks or cuttlebone which is already available in their feed station. Let me know your experiences with feeding eggshell 🥚
