Our story may be a sad one. But it is inspiring...
Queenie (aka The Queen of Sheba) was a senior rescue cat. She'd spent whole six months in the pound, very sick and malnourished, cringing on the concrete floor, with practically no chances of ever being adopted or getting out. Then a true miracle happened and two wonderful people from the MKC rescue group pulled her out literally just before she was too far gone. From this point on, the new life has begun for one little cat with a huge soul and no less incredible personality.
It was a twist of fate and a myriad of coincidences, or it just simply meant to be, that soon after I became Queenie's foster mum. At the time she was deemed "palliative" due to all her underlying health issues. But she was not ready to give up on life yet! Queenie was a true fighter and I always admired her ability to enjoy life and live it to the fullest, defying all the odds. In the matter of weeks she gained weight and gradually her condition stabilized. Her incredible personality soon started to shine through and it became clear to all that she is the true Queen. Her unique marble coat just added a pinch of that exquisiteness, so Donna, one of her rescuers, remarked that she looks like The Queen of Sheba. And the name stuck...
Queenie was finally happy, warm and loved to bits. She adored sleeping on her fluffs, tasting yummy foods and being the Queen of the house. And she gave back no less love. We became bonded forever...
