4yo c**t PORT LOCKROY strikes Gr.1 Gold for out West in Railway Stakes

PORT LOCKROY carried the Go Bloodstock silks to Gr.1 victory on Saturday when landing the Railway Stakes for who perfectly executed the mission helped by an inspired ride by local jockey winning his first Group 1.

A graduate purchased with Annabel & – this was a deserved big race win for PORT LOCKROY who had been knocking on the door over the past 18 months.

Every Group 1 win is a special win – especially with a c**t and seeing the Go Bloodstock silks win Group 1s on each coast in 2024 bookends a special year for Sir Owen and the Go Bloodstock team.

Introducing DELIUS & WOOTTON VERNI.

Sir Owen and the team could not be more excited to introduce two new exciting recruits to our racing team – Group winning European 3yo c**ts DELIUS & WOOTTON VERNI. We would like to pass on a big thank you to who has worked all year and traversed the continent to secure both c**ts.

It is no secret Sir Owen covets the 3 pillars of Melbourne racing – the Cox Plate, the Caulfield Cup & Melbourne Cup. Setting the plan in motion last January – Sir Owen has secured two c**ts who we believe can take us there. Purchased in partnership with & – we cannot wait for 2025 with 2 progressive c**ts on an upward trajectory.

It may just be over but we are already dreaming.

Some wins are better than others.

Sir Owen and team were thrilled to witness the dazzling display of speed by our 2yo filly LADY OF CAMELOT in the Group 3 Widden Stakes in record time on Saturday– fastest by a 2yo ever over the Rosehill 1100m.

This was a special win for both the Go Bloodstock racing and breeding team. Not only is LADY OF CAMELOT a filly with Group 1 potential but she is remarkably the 3rd consecutive Group winning 2yo Sir Owen has bred from his stakes winning mare MISS DEBUTANTE. This is an achievement Sir Owen is very proud of and is a testament to his unwavering drive and commitment to succeed and be the best.

The quality c**t ex good SEBRING mare BOUND TO WIN and the precocious c**t ex HIGHLY DISCREET who was purchased for STAY INSIDE are but 2 of the c**ts we are delighted to welcome to our 2023 crop.

They join c**ts ex Group 1 winner GUST OF WIND & MISS GLENN who is a half-sister to top class RED RESISTANCE (He is back in training with an axe to grind). These are the best foals we have bred on a stallion we own and we are delighted with what we are producing.

LADY OF CAMELOT unleashed – another crown jewel for Sir Owen?

Following in the footsteps of her half-sister PLATINUM JUBILEE – our homebred LADY OF CAMELOT lived up to her family expectation and looked every bit the talented filly we thought she might be when posting an impressive win on Monday in the first 2yo trial for fillies of the year – posting a sizzling time.

Racing away from the rail and in the centre of the track proved no obstacle for our daughter of WRITTEN TYCOON who extended away strongly for the most impressive of trial debuts. Having pulled up in good order – LADY OF CAMELOT looks to emulate her sister for her own crowing moment in the Gimcrack Plate next week. What a result that might be for Sir Owen’s blue-hen MISS DEBUTANTE whose first two foals (and runners) are Group winning 2yos.

Special thanks go to elite 2yo trainers and to who educated this filly to never miss a beat and to the team who raised her to be the precocious racehorse she is. We cannot wait to see what her future holds. What an exciting season of 2yo racing ahead.

Group winning stallion RISE OF THE MASSES back on track.

Sir Owen and the team take great satisfaction in seeing our homebred Group winning horse RISE OF THE MASSES back in the winners circle on his 4yo seasonal debut. Showing all the guts and heart that we became familiar with during a 2yo season that took in a Pago Pago Stakes win and Slipper run – RISE OF THE MASSES was back at it on Wednesday to fend off all challengers and get his head back in front for an impressive return win after an injury enforced layoff.

Special thanks go to who have trained RISE back to form and to for a perfectly executed ride. Also a special word of thanks to for his equitation work early in RISE’s training. RISE will now gradually step up in grade and we look forward to getting our Go Bloodstock homebred back competing amongst the best like he did as a 2yo.
