~ 2024 ANKC Agility Nationals ~

What a huge week! The start of our nationals trip didn’t go to plan with me getting ridiculously sick the day after states and ending up stuck in bed the whole week. We left for Sydney a few days later than planned but it was worth it as I needed the recovery time 😅

Thank you to everyone involved in running the event, the judges for their fun course and sponsors for the awesome prizes.

This was Twix’s first and only ANKC Nationals and I couldn’t be prouder. It was also likely his last big event so we made sure to enjoy every run! My favourite run with him was Adriana’s JDO that had a threadle wrap in the distance challenge, which he absolutely nailed!! With Twix being in the 500 height both ADX and JDM had a lot of dogs in them and there were about 140 dogs entered in JDM 500 so to come 6th in the final is freaking awesome 🥹

Where do I even start with Marvel?! She isn’t even 4 yet and absolutely blew me away at her first ANKC Nationals. We got onto the podium 6 times across the event and I was so proud to stand up there next to her every single time 🥹
We had some absolutely cracking runs and also some heartbreaking ones (I’m buying a tyre asap iykyk 🤣). I loved getting to use all our skills in competition and run some insanely fun courses. I’m so excited to continue our agility journey together 💜

Kova and Sam have been training with us to work on advanced agility skills and jump grids. it has been amazing to see Kova's understanding of skills progress each week 🙌

A few weeks ago this team reached a goal they have been working hard to achieve and were awarded their 🏅 Senior Australian Agility Dog Title 🏅

Fox, Otter & Katie

You may have seen these 2 on our page before but we're so proud of them we just had to make another post! Fox and Otter have done multiple, private lessons, classes and workshops with us and their handler Katie definitely puts in the hard work. I met Otter when she was just a couple of weeks old and it has been such a pleasure to see what an awesome sports dog she has become 🤩

In just 2 of their agility competitions in May, they achieved:

Otter:
Q 1st Elementary Agility
NQ 3rd JWOW

Fox:
Q 2nd Excellent Jumping
Q 5th Open Jumping
NQ 2nd Intermediate Agility

Otter has also recently earned her TKS title in tricks and in one trial got a perfect 60/60 😱🏆

~ Jump Grids ~
In this workshop, we will run though how to teach your dog various jump skills including: how to jump with proper form, where to take off from when approaching a jump, how many strides to add between jumps on course and so much more. Jump grids help to teach dogs proper jump mechanics and set them up for success in their chosen sport! From Agility to Obedience to IGP, sport dogs of all kinds will benefit from the skills learnt in this workshop.
