Feeling fresh, smelling foul…

Wanting to share our space with other doggos, I have started this hobby for small dogs (smaller dogs due to having a toddler and two small dogs myself!) to come and play with us.
Feeling fresh, smelling foul…
Adventuring with these three at Evandale this morning. What a beautiful morning for it!
Dog pawrents will be able to relate to this one. Lucky the toddler was missing or it would have been a bit crowded.
It’s been a while between posts. Amazing sunsets are back, the new deck is built and Sadie is loving lounging on it!
Who knew Sadie could run?!
What a wonderful start to the day out at Evandale this morning
The best bit about playing ball with Sadie…is trying to get the ball off her…🤭🙄
Feeling’ gooooood. Thank goodness for haircut day tomorrow 🤞 🫣
Happy 7th birthday to our girl Tilly. The busy energiser bunny, mumma’s girl! This house is for you, girl. Ok no, we love it too but…
What a fabulous day for an early run for Sampson. Those ears are about to take off!
Yesterday I got a lot of footage of Sampson in slow motion. I enjoyed watching it so much I had to collate them into a video of him in slow-mo.
Sampson's poor pawrents didn't even get to say goodbye to him in the morning, he was at the gate and in the car before I even knew they were still home! He hadn't even had his breakfast yet.
He knows when farm day is. Good boy, Sampson.
There is something so wonderfully amazing about watching a happy dog with boundless energy springing through the grass in slow motion!! Especially when there is an unsuspecting Sadie at the other end. Needless to say, the video is a little longer than I like to make them usually, but hope you enjoy :)
Rainy Saturday morning run for Tilly. Those ears though 🤭🥰
We had to take Sadie to the ”dog doctor” today for what we thought was a sore paw. We came home with some anti inflammatories because the vet thought she may have “overdone” it whilst on holiday with her grandparents. Her shoulder was a bit stiff. She’s also the biggest drama queen.
I don’t think so.
“You’re going on holiday to your grandparents house, your favourite place in the world. You will be patted and pampered, and eat like a queen.”
“No. Make me. Now sod off, you’re in my sun.” - Sadie
We can’t wait for warmer afternoons like this… Multitasking Mama with a sick bubba, school work, and dogs…So much easier when it’s nice weather to hang out outside together!
Sampson had a huge run this morning, he wasn’t shy of running the whole paddock today! He was a little interested in sneaking through the fence, but came back when called…goodest boy! 🐶
See our post below for what’s been happening at PawsAbility lately, and where we’re headed in the future.
It has been a while between posts.... we have been so busy with renovations, going back to teaching, organising Team Tas for Special Olympics National Games...oh and raising a now 2 year old!!
The business is more of a hobby, which is suiting us just fine. We have Sampson to come and walk with us (my toddler, Hannah, and I) on Tuesday mornings. He is a friend's dog, so we figure I'd be out walking ours anyway, so hey, let's invite Sampson! I haven't heard him complain yet.
Being more of a hobby suits us better. If something happens (Eg. Hannah is sick) or we have something on, we can postpone/cancel if need be. Also because, as it turns out, the fences are not 100% dog proof, we know we can trust Sampson and rely on him to come when called (except at home time!) I send Sampson's pawrents some videos each week of his visit, and we pick up and drop off, with him only living 7 minutes from us.
Now that Hannah is out adventuring ('venture, she calls it) with myself and our two small dogs, we think it is important to keep to the original model of SMALL dogs. Sampson being the largest, because he is an "original" friend.
Again, this is a hobby, we are not dog trainers, just dog lovers who have the space to share with other doggos. And again, it is NOT 100% dog proof fenced, so your dog will need some recall. We do have neighbours who, on occasions, have sheep and cows, and all of these are in nearby paddocks at times.
I am quite happy to have just Sampson, but if, on a Tuesday, you are interested in having your small dog come and play with us, I would love to hear from you. I feel a bit selfish having all this wonderful space and not offering it to other doggos to enjoy as well!
So that's what's happening at PawsAbility at the moment and why we have been so quiet!
Some things never change…. She may be getting older, but she still has a ball obsession. This photo from 5 years ago popped up in my feed today - we had *25* balls in this container at one point. She would steal other dog’s balls at the dog park (they never came home with us), find random ones in bushes. She would bring home the old broken ones from the park. I’m so glad she’s grown out of that!!!
How to get exercise out of Sadie: two balls, will chase one with one in her mouth. The problem is how to fit two in her mouth. Meanwhile, Hannah is towed in her chariot this morning.
Ring a ring a Sadie, a Sampson full of crazy…
Sampson has had some solo runs the last few weeks whilst his pawrents are away on holiday. He and Sadie have had to “share” the ball. Even if I have two balls, only one is suitable.
How to convince a turdler to wear her beanie: if you throw it on the ground, the dog will wear it.
Yesterday we braved the cold and fog and went to Evandale’s Honeysuckle Banks for a run. We picked up a polar bear named Emma on our way, Tilly’s best friend.
The biggest frost we have had here!
What, why you laughing at me?
The colder the morning, the better for Tilly. She gets to run to warm up. Even Sadie has to run, so long as she has her ball. But it’s a toss up between eating sheep poo or carrying her ball🫣🤦
We recently had a friend’s dog stay with us whilst her pawrent’s were away…she fit perfectly into the tribe. Tilly 2, Little Tilly, T2 or “Dog” as she was known by Hannah
The best kind of traffic: Dog traffic!
On a cold, frosty Tuesday morning recently, Albus and Sampson came to play. We had magnificent winter sun, so the boys didn't mind and were too busy running around. Albus even had to break the ice in the clam pool! Sampson was a little more reserved about the ice.
Albus likes to taunt Sampson with...anything! A ball, a (not-so-stuffed) caterpillar toy...anything he knows Sampson will chase him for. He is such a show pony!
Sorry this one has been in the archives for a bit, Albus' pawrents.
MAPLE AND SAMPSON'S FIRST BIRTHDAYS
Sorry it's been a while, trying to find enough time to sit and collate these videos whilst we navigate all the winter sickness! Anyone else's family bogged down with sickness after sickness this year?!
Maple and Sampson's first birthdays were this week so we celebrated by going for zoomies around the paddock! Maple has had a few weeks off, so she was a bit slower than her usual self. But as usual, Sampson has enough energy for both!!
