Hanson has announced the EES exhibition period will be for 30 days between January and February 2023.
During this time, all residents should review the EES and lodge written submissions to the Planning Minister.
These submissions provide feedback on the EES - what you don't agree with, what you do and what Hanson hasn't addressed within their documents. It's also a time for you to highlight your concerns and why the proposed quarry, as outlined in the EES, is incompatible with how you live.
Over the next three months, we recommend you begin thinking about your concerns. These may include traffic, pollution (light, dust, noise), alteration of landscape, social impacts (including mental health), impacts on flora, fauna, water and agriculture - just to name a few.
The response to submissions, panel hearing and minister's decision will take place between February and August 2023.
After 17 years, we will have an answer.
Don't worry, we'll let you know when and where you can access the EES when it's available for public exhibition.
