GRATITUDE POST 🙏🫶🐎🥰💝🫶🙏

Wow have we had an extraordinary busy few past several weeks... and well have we got some updates for you 🤗

Thank you all for your patience whilst we have been a little quiet... You see, we have been very busy preparing our property to be burnt off.

We had an amazing earthworks company donate some time to come out and grate some fire breaks that the horses are loving btw 🐎🥰🫶 .

That has made it so much easier on the older horses, now being able to walk down to the lake without as much effort 🙏🐎
(Really looking forward to having a tractor at some stage, so we can slash and maintain a shorter pasture)

We also had some incredible backpackers staying with us 🤗 they have been absolutely amazing helping out 🥰🫶 preparing for the burn so we have improved pasture and less chance of summer scorching fires occuring.

Our backpackers have been doing fence removal, roundyard set-ups, building a temporary new holding yard, slashing, brushing horses, and taking some incredible photos and drone footage 😍... Ah my goodness, they have been amazing!

However this post is with immense gratitude and utmost respect to our incredible rural firefighters who are all VOLUNTEERS that today on a Sunday came out to lend us a hand with burning off. These humans deserve all the gold hearts our world has to offer.

These incredible people came out in force to us on a Sunday, giving up their time, energy and assisted us all whilst smiling and showing such amazing support for our herds welfare.

These outstanding firefighters, coming into fire season, have already committed the past several days (if not weeks ) we were advised, fighting significant large fires in various rural area's, so for these exemplary humans to extend their efforts to coming out to assist us, is a part of humanity that truly deserves recognition and accolades of the highest honour. They deserve to be PAID. 💝

We would also like to sincerely thank all our local neighbours and local volunteer firefighters that came to give us a hand during a period of time that hasn't been the easiest for us. 🫶

To have had such an incredible show of support for our little retired ex-racehorse charity has been the most humbling and heartwarming experience we could possibly have hoped for. 🫶

We are sincerely Appreciative and incredibly grateful to everyone who assisted us over the past several weeks, ESPECIALLY TODAY 🙏 you are all amazing. 🌟

🌟 **Urgent Help Needed for Destiny** 🌟

***Second Update*** 🎉

Today, we were so grateful to have an Equine Dentist help with our beloved Destiny! She handled her with care, discovering partially fractured teeth that were cutting into Destiny’s tongue. With the sharp edges taken care of, we are hopeful Destiny will heal quickly! Thank you to everyone who contributed to her care—you’re making a difference for these deserving retired horses! We're looking forward to having the others done very soon! 🐎💖🙏

**Update on Destiny**

This morning, we are happy to share that Destiny has stopped drooling and the swelling is down! Thanks to the pain meds and antibiotics, she’s much more comfortable. While she still has a significant tooth issue to address, We are thrilled to see her in less discomfort. Here’s to her continued recovery! If you are able to donate.... much appreciated 🙏

We’re devastated to share that Destiny, our beloved retired racehorse and the heart of our sanctuary, has fallen unwell. She was saved from a slaughter auction for just $120, and since then, she’s been a guiding light for many horses in need.

Destiny has always shown remarkable resilience and strength, but now she’s facing severe discomfort with a sore lower left jaw tooth ache and swollen mouth. We contacted our vets immediately, however they are unable to attend for some time although have given in depth direction for veterinary pain management and has been put back on antibiotics until a local vet can attend. Unfortunately, our local vets are unable to help her right away due to policies regarding Hendra vaccination.

We’re doing everything we can to ease her pain and seek immediate care, but we need your support. Every donation counts to help us give Destiny the treatment she desperately needs.

Do you support ex-racehorses being allowed to retire and what days they have left finally being able to just be a horse, go about grazing, taking a dip in the lake or just hanging out with their friends...



Sadly with only 12 people in the first week running a raffle entered, earning our charity a whole $46.50 that is supposed to sustain our herds $500 weekly feed bill

And

This last week only 7 people stayed committed to supporting our herd totalling $24.75. so we almost get to buy 1 bale of hay.

If more people don't actively support ex-racehorses retirement, we will have no other option but to say goodnight to the ones costing more than people are prepared to support.
