The health of sheep feet is a significant issue in the Australian sheep industry, especially Merinos in higher rainfall zones and in wet years. Genetic selection has proven effective in reducing sheep susceptibility to footrot, with New Zealand already developing a successful Breeding Value for the trait.

Building on this, the ‘Genetics of foot health in Merinos’ project, funded by AWI, Animal Health Australia and Australian Merino breeders, is exploring genetic variation in foot conditions. The project seeks to improve welfare, fertility, and productivity across medium to high rainfall regions.

Working with some of wool industry leaders - on farm doing ram exams and helping to collect WEC and TSU finding those rockstars who can create mouth watering fleeces AND take on worms ….. easily a career highlight for Tim and Lach ! Dad bods are a legit metabolic condition…. Not helped by legend clients who “make”us consume amber beverages after a awesome day doing ram exams and collecting TSUs to drive genetic gain producing the worlds best wool - New England what a cracking spot ( except when it’s snowing )

Get on the attack for joining - these decoy runners help tighten up joinings - more lambs earlier = which if you work out growth rate per day - a lamb born earlier =$$ + longer Interlamb interval = more time to put on BCS = more twins
