This digging thing is great. I wonder how deep this dirt is. These paws are pretty good for digging with.

Another big day of driving today. I think we must be gypsies. We don't seem to stay in the same place for more than a few days. Our new home is awesome tho. So many smells to smell and plants to chew.
Daddy lets me off lead here and I love to run around and roll in the grass and explore and dig.
It's great fun under the house plowing through all the dead leaves. Whenever I go under there, dad calls me, but I can't help enjoying it for an extra minute or two before I come out.

This new life is fun but exhausting. I don't know how Pace has kept it up for 12 years. Hasn't even been one week for me.
Wake me when it's dinner.

OMG. The things I have to do for a meal. This time, dad decided to poke and prod me and stick his fingers in my mouth. They tasted like chips and sweat. Ok, so that part I liked.
What is he going to do next? Tar and feather me?

Mum and dad took me out on a boat today. It was hot. I don't like hot. I hid in the shade of a life vest the whole time. Dad woke me up occasionally by tipping freezing cold water on me. Great trip.

Today I tried to follow brother out into the moving water. The water was cold and wet, so I decided to climb out onto some logs. I was doing so well, but then one of the logs must have vanished cause I ended up in the water. Pace saw everything, I was so embarrassed. Even mum and dad were laughing at me. I forgave them when they gave me a cuddle and some treats tho.

Mum and dad took me to a place like the beach, but the water stayed in one place which was much better. There was lots of good smells and nice people that tasted salty. I told off Pace for being too far out in the water. He didn't seem to care, so I told off a rock.

These steps are so big. It's so lucky that humans have legs long enough to climb up them easily. Not so lucky for me.
It was a bit scary the first time, but it was easier following Pace up.

I'm not so sure about the beach. I much prefer the water when it stays in one place. I don't like it when Mum, Dad and brother Pace all go in the water and leave me on the shore. They don't seem to realise how dangerous the water is. I was pretty scared, but I managed to swim out to rescue dad. He must have been very grateful, cause he gave me lots of cuddles and treats.

Mum and dad carry me around a lot. I don't know why. I might be little, but my legs work just fine. I'm sure I can run faster than they can.

Warning. Parvovirus is a very real danger.
We, at 2 Tails Dog Training, know how important it is for the development of pups to get out and experience the world while they are still in their critical period of development (8 to 12 weeks of age). So many adult behavioral issues can be traced back to lack of early puppy socialisation. Research has shown that considerably more dogs are euthanised for these behavioral problems than dogs die from parvovirus.
That said, it is also important to be very careful if you choose to take your unvaccinated puppy out in public.
Parvovirus is primarily spread through contact with infected dog faeces, so avoid putting your puppy down on the ground where other dogs frequent. Don't let your puppy meet unvaccinated dogs. Make sure you and your house guests leave their shoes outside the front door. If you do put your puppy on the ground, keep him on a large picnic blanket.
There is also a heap of socialisation you can do in your own home.
Do your own research, and if you're still unsure, follow the advice of your vet.

Daddy doesn't feed me out of a bowl like I'm used to. He hand feeds me or he puts my food in a blue rubber thing, and I have to get it out. A bowl seems much easier, tho it's good that I don't have to race my siblings to eat as much as possible any more. Besides, I'm starting to like the challenge of getting it all out. Seems like it gets a little harder to get it out each day. I think I need a nap now.

When my humans picked me up, we went on a big ride in the car. It was pretty boring so I slept through most of it. I like laying next to mum or dads feet where the cool air comes out.
When we finally got home, dad took me outside where a giant water dish was. The water smelled funny, so I decided not to drink out of it tho.
Dad walked straight into the water which I was a bit worried about. I tried to follow him, but I didn't like my feet getting wet and cold. I decided to stay on dry ground and tell him to get out with my firmest voice.
I didn't want to go in, but dad was feeding me lots of yummy treats, and the next thing I knew, I was in up to my belly. I got a bit worried, but I didn't want to leave all these treats I was getting for free. After a few mins, I thought the water wasn't too bad anyway.

Hi. My name is Obi. I'm 10 weeks old. I have 4 siblings. I miss them. They were good to wrestle with and they kept me warm at night.
Now I have a new home with two humans and an old dog called Pace. I like him. I know he doesn't mean it when he growls at me when I climb on top of him. He makes me feel safe.
I like my humans too. They play with me and give me lots of cuddles.
My new life is very busy, so I don't get much of a chance to worry about my siblings. We go somewhere new every day. There is so much to see and do.
