Today was an unusual day at Clarivon. The sun was out all day. While we didn't make hay we did do a down to dirt clean of the sheds and replaced all the bedding and gained two barrowloads of beautiful compost poo for the garden..

Grafton show yesterday.
It was a bit of a whirlwind day for us, loading up in the dark for a 2hr trip with the goats to Grafton.
We took a couple of new girl for a drive and to learn the ropes of being in the ring . Little Jaffa was nervous for her first walk into the ring and wasn't happy to cooperate but everyone starts somewhere. She came home with a ribbon nevertheless. Wu hoo, aka Pickles cruised through the day like she's been there done that forever..
We had a great day,

Bonalbo show is on This Fri/Sat. A mini goat show is going to be held Saturday morning 10am judging. Clarivon is going along with some of the crew to show.. looking forward to catching up with other mini goat lovers and having a lovely day..

Keeping goats and selters dry with constant rain is really getting hard.
days of rain, nights of rain,weeks of rain, months of rain. Beautiful rain nevertheless BUT.
Why do they p*e as soon as they get "inside". I ask you, why!! Why!!

At Clarivon our dairy goats are family, they are spoilt and treasured. They repay me with beautiful milk for our soap making, they do a magnificent job keeping the privet and other feral weeds on our block somewhat under control for the amount of girls we have. And they are always ready for a cuddle and scratch session..
Oh and they provide great fertilizer for the garden.
