Playing ‘FIND IT’
I find this game so fun and interesting to see how each puppy reacts. Some take a little longer than others because they get distracted along the way but they all get there in the end. 😍🤗
Once they get the hang of it you can make it a little more challenging by adding in barriers and obstacles so that they have to use those impressive noses and amazing brains.

Yep that’s a little heart beat 😍
We have approximately 9 sweet puppies happily swimming around in mummas belly, although there’s not too much room left for a lot of action.
Mumma Molly is doing well and resting lots. She’s gone off her food a little but still happy to have some ham, steak, chicken or whatever us humans are eating 😉🤭
Now the big question…. Do we stick with collar colour names as in Mr Blue, Miss Pink etc or do we do another themed litter? (like our Christmas litter)

What a rollercoaster of a year hey!!
We started our year off with love and happiness welcoming 9 innocent beautiful puppies into the world only to then have to say a very hard and devastating goodbye to our beautiful Hank and Teddy not long after.
It’s times like these when we really struggle and have to remind ourselves, why we do this. It hurts so much!
But don’t get me wrong we have had A LOT of happy and fun times as well and we feel very lucky to have these beautiful personalities help us through the hard times and bring our smiles back. 🤗
We are so grateful for all the amazing new friends we have made along the way and all the support from everyone that has followed along our journey. We love that you all know our dogs nearly as much we do and it makes us so happy when we receive messages from people we haven’t even met in person yet asking about “old uncle Arnie” or even sharing stories about their Goldie’s. You guys are our one and only’s that we can truly share about our dogs and not feel like your getting bored of us… well, if you are you can just skip our posts or stories haha
This year we would love to share and educate more so please feel free to tell us what you would like us to share more of or help educate with. We don’t have all the answers we only have experiences so if we don’t know we will always try to find out for you and for our own knowledge too.
A huge thank you to my amazing @gippslandveterinarygroup who are always there for me and my dogs. They have been there through the highs and lows. We have laughed, celebrated and cried together.

This was just going to be a quick little story to show the puppies eating progress but when I saw Mr Green💚 startle I thought it would be a great opportunity to talk about this reaction.
It’s perfectly normal for puppies to startle occasionally, just like us humans, as they explore and adapt to their environment.
Startling is a natural reaction to unfamiliar sounds, sights or sensations, and it often indicates a healthy level of curiosity and alertness.
What’s important is how quickly they recover from these startles. A quick recovery shows resilience and adaptability, which are crucial traits for a growing puppy.
Over time, as they gain confidence and experience, these startle reactions tend to decrease, allowing them to become well adjusted and confident adult dogs.
So, as long as a puppy recovers quickly, there’s no need to worry. It’s all part of their developmental journey.
By us helping to provide new experiences with positive outcomes like this they will become more confident every time. 🤗🐾
On another note…
This puppy recall is one of my favourites. It’s amazing to watch how quickly they go from startling or not reacting to the “Tap tap tap Puppy..” (x3) to stopping whatever they are doing at the time (or even waking up) & running straight over to start eating.
This is so helpful for our new families bringing home their new puppy when they don’t know their name yet and they are wanting the puppy to come to them when called.
We can just about guarantee the puppy will always stop when they hear this and run towards whoever is saying it. Then you can also change “Tap tap tap Puppy” to “tap tap tap **puppies name” 🥰
I bet even some of our older Crupicoo puppies will still react to it. 😄

🐾 Did your dog save you?? 🐾
When I was younger I used to love reading books with stories about dog’s rescuing people. Dogs jumping in rivers to save a child or a dog sleeping on their person in a snow storm to keep them warm till help came. There were so many amazing stories. 💛
Little did I know back then that there are so many ways a dog can save someone not only physically but also emotionally and just by existing.

He’s been by my side through it all. Good times and sad times. He’s seen me love, laugh and cry.
He’s watched my children grow up and he’s grown up with them.
I didn’t realise it at the time but when I look back now I see my dog saved me 🥰
Having a dog has not only given me the opportunity to make new friends and taught me so many lessons but also forced me to take certain life paths that had I not had a dog I may not of taken and led me to where I am today.

From day 3-16 we perform Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) & Early Scent Introduction (ESI) only once per day & never if the puppies are stressed or ill. It’s a no brainer for us as it’s easy to do & very beneficial for so many reasons.
-Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
-Stronger heart beats
-Stronger adrenal glands
-More tolerance to stress
-Greater resistance to disease
Studies found that puppies that were stimulated were more active & exploratory than their non stimulated littermates. They were also more tolerant, relaxed & better in a simple problem solving detour maze test. The pups that were not stimulated were seen to make more errors, not cope, showed signs of stress, very upset & wining a lot.
Early Scent Introduction also performed at this time.
This is a simple task of introducing 1 different scent to the puppy each day & recording the reaction the puppy gives. Positive, negative or neutral.
ESI helps to enhance a dogs scent from an early age. Studies have shown dogs that have been involved in ESI were achieving a lot more titles as well as achieving them 2.5-5 years earlier than dogs that had not been involved in ESI.
Not only does this help with event titles but also dogs for hunting & benefits service or working dogs to help save lives.
A high scent trait may be a desired trait for many therapy or service dogs. Having the ability to alert a diabetic of an impending reaction, working with an elderly person, keeping them safe eg incase they leave the stove on or possibly having to search for a missing autistic child are just a few of the many examples of things that could be required of the dog.
ESI is something we believe betters the dog & sets them up for success. Whether our puppy families want a companion, ESA, or service/ therapy dog our puppies will have the best start for their future of whatever it may involve.
