This past week I got to meet a few bunnies on my house calls, one of them was this beautiful boy, Bandit ❤️
He recieved a nail trim and a sanitary clip, we made sure we took plenty of breaks to ensure Bandit was not stressed during the clipping process, he did fanstastic!

What is a sanitry trim?
A sanitary trim (or sanitary clip) refers to trimming or shaving the coat so it's shorter in the areas where urine or f***s may otherwise stain or get stuck in the coat. Areas such as around the a**s, ge****ls and abdomen.

IT’S STORMY OUT THERE… ⛈

Thunderstorms have always been a cause for concern to pets and their owners. Pets don’t understand that the loud noises they are hearing are not going to hurt them and they will often go to extreme lengths to escape from what is scaring them.

🐾 WHAT TO DO DURING A STORM 🐾

1. Be sure to keep your pet comfortable at home, preferably indoors or a space of refuge where you can keep an eye on them.
2. Ensure your fences and gates are secure so they can’t escape your home or yard.
3. Having other sounds on like the TV or radio/music can also help to distract them from the storm.
4. Ensure your pet’s microchip details are up to date and they have their collar & ID tag on.

Pets do often get lost in thunderstorms, so we have some advice on what to do if your pet does go missing!

🐾 LOST PET CHECKLIST 🐾

1. Report your pet as missing to your council.
2. Lodge a Lost Pet Report on our website. This will help our team contact you if your pet is found. Visit https://awl.org.au/lost-pet-report
3. Post a photo, description, location and details of your pet on social media, including the Lost Pets of South Australia page.
4. Check with your neighbours - has your pet paid them a visit?
5. Contact vet clinics and animal shelters. Call us on 8348 1300 and RSPCA on 1300 477 722
6. Put up flyers around your area.
7. Check that your pet’s microchip details are up-to-date. Visit dogsandcatsonline.com.au

He was very relaxed during his treatment.

We have booked in Chang for next month to trim his nails again, as now he is getting older he needs a helping hand.

See you next month Chang!
