As you may know we relocated (both home and business) from Sydney to the Hunter in June - what a ride it’s been!

We’ve been busy settling into our new community, exploring the stunning surrounds and keeping up with a high volume of orders.. THANK YOU!!

Our home studio is now even more eco friendly than our last. We continue to use solar energy and are also on rain water for any pre washing we do to our fabrics. PLUS, we have more room to compost and recycle.

It was time to update our original logo and what better time for a refresh! I played with a heap of new ideas but decided to keep it similar to our old one as we’ve built a wonderful reputation over the years. So… we’ve spruced it up a bit - I really hope you like it!

We will be slowly rolling out the new look logo on our marketing, swing tags and products once we run out of what we have. Waste not want not 🌏

You will notice a few other variations depending on where we’re using it.

Dachshunds and Spinal Health:
Dachshunds are at a higher risk of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) due to their unique body shape, especially their short legs. This breed tends to have spinal discs that calcify earlier than in other breeds, increasing the risk of IVDD. Even if your Dachshund is in good shape, back problems can still occur.

One behaviour to be cautious of is when Dachshunds sit up like meerkats. While it may seem adorable, it can actually strain their spinal discs, raising the risk of injury. It's crucial to discourage this behaviour and provide proper spine support.

April Charity 💜

- ‘Rescuing Dogs Who Rescue Veterans & First Responders’

5% of all April sales are donated directly to PTSD Dogs Australia. We’re proud to help support this amazing not for profit organisation that is changing lives.

So what exactly is PTSD?

The medical world first started to look at the problems associated with those exposed to military combat following the American Civil War (1861-1865) but it wasn’t until the Vietnam War (1955-1975) that research finally led to PTSD being added to the DSM-III (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders third edition).

A report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reveals there were at least 1677 deaths by su***de between 1997 and 2021 among serving, ex-serving and reservist Australian Defence Force personnel who served on or after 1 July 1985.

Of the 1677 recorded su***de deaths, 1542 were men and 135 were women, more than 20-times the number killed in active duty over roughly the same period.

These figures do not include the deaths that were not officially recorded as su***de because intent could not be determined. Nor does it include those who served before 1985 such as Vietnam Veterans.

Ex-serving males who were enlisted in the permanent forces are 42% more likely to die by su***de than the broader male Australian population while in females the rate was an astonishing 107% higher than the general population.

Odi went missing from the Big 4 caravan park in Port Fairy on New Years Eve. If you have any information that could help, please reach out to the family 🙏🏼

Odi is still missing... $2,000 Reward
Its now been 10 days and we have not given up hope. Our Odi crew are still searching and following up any possible sighting and locations across and beyond the South West.
Your help to appreciated .
Whether Odi is still adventuring, resting in shrub or enjoying his own holiday - any sightings please report to 0412 880 804 (and please check for possible remnants of his blue lead).
Todays efforts will focus on the following areas:
Old cemetery over South Beach
Bowker Court
Warrnambool town and surrounding area
An area that has not been explored and a possible location is the Tyrendarra Floral Reserve so if anyone is close to this area and is happy to take a walk around that would be greatly appreciated.

With the year coming to an end we want to thank you for your continued support 💚 We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing customers and eco conscious community.

2023 has been another huge year for us that has come with many ups and downs (thank you economy 🤦‍♀️) but we’re here to focus on the positives!

In January we become a certified and the first Australian pet accessory brand to do so. This is not an easy certification and something we’re extremely proud of 🌿

With your help, we’ve managed to save almost half an acre of Daintree Rainforest and support Australian Working Dog Rescue with much needed donations on a monthly basis.

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting and supporting some amazing new charities this year, including PTSD Dogs Australia, Dachshund IVDD Support Australia and Greyt Greys Rescue. These not for profit charities are doing amazing things so please show them some love💕

Our h**p harness won Silver in the Clean + Conscious Awards PLUS we were awarded their Social Responsibility Award which is a true honour💚

Thank you to everyone who has taken time to come and see us at in person events or markets. As a predominatley online business, these meetings are very special to us and we appreciate you! Thank you to our amazing online community and supporters and to those who send us doggy pics and stories - these are the highlights of our day 🐶

Sadly we lost another family member this year but have felt the support from our little Bohemi community in ways I can’t even describe. I feel absolutely honoured to be able to provide our products and services to such genuine and thoughtful customers.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… dog people truely are the best kind of people ❤️🐾
