It had been Diana's birthday over the weekend and so, she brought in a large delicious pavlova for our morning tea

Can you believe that it is almost February already?!
We are almost ready to send out the Farm It Forward Tasmania February workshop calendar but thought we would give a peek at what we have coming up - it's so exciting to have some of our regular workshop teachers/leaders return after their break and to also introduce one or two new activities, or a couple that haven't been offered in a while!

Some of the things coming up in February...

* cricut for beginners with Mandy
* papermaking plus make your own deckle with Lisa and Annie
* making paper flowers (gum branches and leaves) with Steph
* wet felting with Alison
* soap making with Lisa
* polymer clay sweets and boxes of chocolates with Quintin
* mosaic and pottery with Christianne
* Saturday Sewing Session with Lyn (making a Japanese Knot Bag)

plus more :)

Keep an eye out for our workshop calendar released next week for dates, times and venues :)

In a couple of weeks' time, the soap making workshops will start up again after several months break while Lisa travelled and then once home, attended markets to sell her beautiful soaps.

We have missed these fun and lovely smelling workshops, that's for sure! :)

If you have thought about attending one of these workshops, definitely give it a try - Lisa provides everything that you need to make your own batch of soap, including information sheet with recipe, Lisa's preferred stockists and all the colours, fragrances, clays, additions such as rolled oats, dried flowers and shiny mica colours that you would need to make a batch of soap just how you want it :)

Soap Making Workshop with Lisa Millar
Sunday 2 February
10am to 4pm
Cam Rise Uniting Church Building
(through the gate)
3 Wragg St, Somerset (Murchison Highway end)

Cost: $110 and you will receive $70 worth of soap (that's a lot of soap)

to book and to get further information, contact Lisa - [email protected]

On Friday morning, we had another basket weaving session with Kristal Keygan.

Not everyone makes or weaves baskets - we also encourage people to come along with the project of their choice, such as macrame, crochet etc. We believe coming together to connect and socialise is as equally important and, we will offer you hot drinks and morning tea :)

Yesterday afternoon, we had a much less hectic session for our weekly Saturday journal making activity.
We have needed to change the way that we do things after the tsunami of interest that we had last week, to ensure that we look after everyone's safety and comfort - now, those who are interested will need to let us know that they are coming (or not coming, if a regular).

Unfortunately, this Saturday's (25 Jan) all-day session is now fully booked. We are working on introducing other days for those who are keen to come along :)

Those who came along to the afternoon session yesterday, were all very busy on their individual projects - everything is looking so inspirational! (inspiring others is something that frequently happens - we love that!

Yesterday, we returned to the wonderful pottery studio of local ceramic artist teacher, Christianne Goss :)
Our children's workshop was pretty busy with lots of creativity and conversation... and some of the children were able to have an experience on the potters wheel and made a little pot each :)

Thankyou so much Christianne for another fun workshop! and to all of the children for coming along to play with clay at Christianne's studio :)

The next pottery workshop will be Sat 1 Feb - 10.30am to 12.30pm

Yesterday afternoon, we had the biggest group to our journal making/papercraft sessions to date. We ran out of chairs!

It was so wonderful to see everyone so happy and excited about their projects and there were certainly some treasures being created. We are so happy that this activity is gathering so much interest and we wish that we had a much bigger space to accommodate all of the wonderful growing journal making community.

Unfortunately, our room is not big enough for a group so large (as yesterday's crowd of 21) and we need to think of the comfort and safety of those who come along to join us. So, we will need to ask that people now book/let us know that they are coming, to ensure that we have enough space (and chairs!) for those who attend on the day.

We are looking into offering other days/times so that there are options available for those interested in junk journals/treasure books/papercrafts - we just need to work out if we have enough volunteers who would be happy to facilitate on the days that we have workshops at other venues (and Michelle not able to be in two places at the same time :D ). Leave it with us and we will see what we can do. :)

Junk Journals/Journal Making/Treasure Books/Papercrafts
