Box Divvy is Community owned and run. This is a fruit, veg and grocery cooperative. We purchase as a group up to 40% cheaper than supermarkets. It’s a Smart coop and you get more of what you want than a normal coop. Box Divvy is

a food box sharing system connecting growers & food producers directly with the Food. It is community owned and run designed to cut your food bill. You join online - there is no registration fee. https://www.boxdivvy.com/ You use an App on your phone or computer or a pad to order. Working with Western Sydney Diabetes Alliance - our aim is to provide accessible, inexpensive good quality fresh food.

4 DAY ORDER CYCLE – FOR Thursday pick up

Saturday 9pm – Order creation
It’s an OPT OUT SYSTEM so if you don’t want an order for the coming week, you must suspend prior to Saturday 9pm. Your household size and delivery option must also be selected by Saturday 9pm. Sunday - Starting Order Published
Log in today and you may take up to 3 things out and START or JOIN SPLITS. Tuesday 9pm - CUT OFF
Orders closed. Cards charged. There are 2 automatic processing of cards. If those both decline - a $5 recharge fee is applied as it pays for someone to manually reprocess. You must pay BEFORE pick-up. Thursday - PICK UP. You must pick up day of delivery at the pick-up time or arrange with Hubster. PAYMENTS
You must pay for your order once committed to an order cycle. Once in an Order Cycle we cannot withdraw an order. It is your responsibility to suspend the correct weeks. ORDERING SYSTEM
Dead simple. You share boxes online using the App or website. SUSPENDING ORDERS
When you tick the date, wait, it will turn red to confirm suspension. You’re expected to order weekly or fortnightly. STARTING ORDER
As a group, we have a weekly Starting Order of about 4 to 6 items. You can take out up to 3 things. WANT MORE? SHARE BOXES known as SPLITS
If you wish for more, you join Splits and share boxes. If you ant a particular product and it's not open, OPEN a split yourself. At order cut-off you pay automatically online (Visa or Mastercard & Secure Eway Payment gateway) then boxes from growers & food wholesalers come to the Hubster’s house for packing. You pick up from their place or they may offer home delivery. FRUIT, VEG, BREAD, EGGS – Order, pay, receive this week
GROCERIES/PANTRY/HONEST to GOODNESS – Order, pay, receive next week due to fresh roasting of coffee and made to order. BREAD baker direct – Minimum HUB order total is $30
GROCERIES wholesaler direct – Minimum HUB order is $75. MEAT AND SEAFOOD (NEW) – Order every 3 weeks. READ THE AMOUNTS YOU ARE PURCHASING
Please check carefully if the items are single, handfuls, 500g, 1 kg etc. Don't assume it's by one item. EXAMPLE: Cherries sold by the box, make sure you’re not putting in 5 thinking it's handfuls when it's boxes. Read the descriptions please. EXTRAS
There are ALWAYS extras as the box belongs to members so your Hubster will divvy extras when available. COMMUNITY BOX
Many Hubster’s have a COMMUNITY KINDNESS BOX given to a family or an organisation in need. This is part of the Social Enterprise experience by being part of the Hub. DON'T WANT AN ORDER? There are no contracts, you can suspend orders when you don’t want them. WANT EXACTLY 1 tomato, 2 oranges? Maybe Box Divvy is not for you. This is a coop and things are in handfuls NOT exact items. You need to be flexible but you'll always get good value. We are a group of community minded people wanting to change the food system. Reduce packaging and pay our farmers fairly. By reducing our carbon footprint by 90% this means we buy in bulk as a group and then share it. We need to be a bit flexible. You will know roughly what you will get but you can’t get exact. We have a Packing Guide but the numbers will change as produce is smaller or larger. Mostly you will get extras overall. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I SPEND? You will pay the STARTING ORDER PLUS if you join in SPLITS or ADD Groceries. At the bottom of MY ORDER you will see the MAX you will pay if all your SPLITS get over the line, any groceries you’ve ordered and the Starting Order. You can reduce the SPLITS or Groceries you joined BEFORE CUTOFF. PACKAGING
Much of the produce comes loose so please provide your Hubster with a NAME LABELLED BAG: ALSO - calico/wash nets to put handfuls in (do not expect your Hubster to provide paper bags please. Bring in your old ice cream containers, for example, for the Hub to put soft stuff in. If you get an item in plastic, recycle it in your soft plastic bin. We don't interrupt the packing from the farmer. Farmers are trying to work out how to transport produce and it can’t always be plastic free - for the moment. The Sugar Cane bags are not strong, don't last and definitely not airtight. Cardboard and paper fall apart. New technology is being worked on. NOT FOR ME
If after you’ve tried it and Box Divvy is not working the way you want, then you can cancel membership. It's that simple. No questions asked. So? Join our group to make a difference. You have the power to do so. Cut your food bill significantly! The goal: to cut your food bill, without compromising on the quality, freshness and variety of food. With minimal effort, minimal packaging and food miles, and still paying farmers and suppliers a fair price for their produce.

❤️ KIDS IN THE KITCHEN - Part 1 ❤️

What were you doing at 7am this morning?

Well these two impressed me alright! They chose something new to cook which involved the slow cooker.
This was their first time using the slow cooker, so I told them it was a great choice BUT they would need to get up earlier than usual for school to prepare this.

And they did. Up early, lunches made, all dressed and dinner on low and slow.

Chicken fajitas with yoghurt in a pita flat bread.

How I wish the new Afghan flat bread was available this week! Box Divvy

End result later tonight...stay tuned.

So proud of their commitment.

Asian. Indian. Lebanese. Italian. Any and all dishes.

Box Divvy have you covered. We are so lucky to have available to us a large variety of vegetables, spices, meal bases and more which allow members to be able to create dishes from all over the world!

A simple Lebanese dish which is usually had for breakfast. Foul is Fava Beans (an option of adding a can of chickpeas which we love) heated in a large pot with some crushed garlic and olive oil. Add a small bit of salt and pepper. Add lemon juice at the end. Slightly crush a quarter of the mix.

Serve with chopped parsley, shallots, tomato and pickles.

A good drizzle of extra virgin olive oil is a must. A GOOD drizzle.

Serve with Bankstown Lebanese Bakery Lebanese bread.

What's the latest Box Divvy addition?

𝗞𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗳𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱.

Flour, salt, yeast, water: 4 simple ingredients will transport you to a whole new world.

Also known as snowshoe bread (on account of their shape) these flatbreads are baked in a wood-fired stone oven - hence the slight charring.

Baked by Asad and his family, they fled the Taliban in 2010 and set up shop in Auburn. His father and grand-father before him were bakers, and he is continuing the 40-year family tradition.

Some have described this bread as a hybrid between Turkish bread and Indian naan, but this description does not do it justice. It's soft, somewhat fluffy, definitely rustic, moor-ish, incredibly versatile, and despite the simple ingredients, they seem to stay fresh for 3-4 days. You can crisp them up in the oven, heat them in the microwave for a softer result, or even toast them.

You can cover them with cheese and toast them under a hot grill. Eat them with falafel or lamb kofta, some hummos and tabouleh; turn them into a hamburger with Handler’s meat patties. Or eat them with your favourite curry (as in: Belicious Afghani Lamb curry). The Afghanis themselves use them to mop up any leftover sauce and rice from their plate, like a pre-rinse.

Above all, they are so delicious, you can't stop eating them. Ingredients: wheat flour, wholemeal flour, salt, yeast, water. You’ll find them under Bakery ➡️ Bread ➡️ Wraps & Flatbread. Two loaves per pack for a combined weight of around 760g. Baked and delivered fresh daily.

JOIN 𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗩𝗬 TODAY - YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID.

Coles and Woolworths is an option for some, but they certainly are not concerned about the farmers or you, their customer. The tactics and practices the duopoly, Coles and Woolworths, deploy to price gouge suppliers and, ultimately, customers leaves us all in a less fortunate life situation. So why shop there?

𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗩𝗬 gives us an alternative.

My beautiful Lynn buys 25 to 30 oranges each week, and supplies me with her "oranges" tub to pack in.

But guess how many she ordered this week?

Juicing citrus in this season is a great way to get your vitamin C dose in.
Pair it with Kiwi fruit (which has an even higher dose) and keep them sniffles at bay.

Something new.

I love it when you're just going round being a Hubster, packing each week and then an item you've never packed before is in your Hub's order!

We have our usual pantry items each week, but every once in a while, a little surprise happens.

Whilst I've packed the Tucker's Natural Lemon Myrtle Wattleseed crackers before, these are a new flavour I haven't packed before.

How good does the flavour combination sound....Australian Parmesan, WA Truffle and Pepperleaf.

What surprises have you had lately?

Let's talk about them avocado's!

How perfect have they been.

And yes, this is 100% dinner.

Toasted Shepherd's Artisan Bakehouse sourdough.
Smashed Box Divvy avocado with finely diced red onion, a good drizzle of lime (I mean I could put 4 limes, I love lime that much) feta and a drizzle of chilli oil.

It's a perfect meal for me.

Niggling coughs.

My girl is fighting off a niggling cough.

An onion and honey mix is a quick and simple remedy to help her heal.

Simply dice and onion and layer an inch at the bottom of your jar. Drizzle a tablespoon of 2 Pops Honey honey, another layer of onion, honey, onion, honey....you get the drill.

It's best after at least 24 hours, but can be taken after an hour.

Hubby can eat the onion but the rest of us simply take a tablespoon of the liquid 3 times a day.

We always have a jar or two of the 2 Pops Honey in our pantry but adding two to my order this week because winter sees us adding it to our warm oats, teas and cough mixtures.

❤️ KIDS IN THE KITCHEN ❤️

You know these two gems have grown accustomed to their weekly meals that I rarely hear them bicker anymore.

In fact they actually have fun.
"I bags the fattest haloumi and the smallest one".

"Look at the bread puff up."

"Did you try my tatziki?"

I love watching them.

Today they decided to try the lamb kofta from Handler Meat Rushcutters Bay. Because they've grown up with the traditional Lebanese kafta, they were eager to taste the difference.

And it was different! But a good different as they put it. They enjoyed the spices which was tamed by the yoghurt.

They opted for Greek inspired kofta in a pan fried pita bread with tomato, cucumber, red onion, haloumi and tatziki.

The chilled range that we have available at Box Divvy now includes dairy so yoghurts are readily available.

Our girl was super chuffed when dad said it was the best tasting tatziki he'd ever had.

This confidence prompted her to recall how she made it at the dinner table. Great way to retain the information.

Super proud of these loves.

Why buy stock?

Some of us have been brought up using stock cubes as a pantry staple – once you've tasted homemade stock, you'll be saying 'Yucko' to the cubes! Buying liquid stock ready to go is trendier these days….AND way more expensive.

You can make a great number of stocks, improvised with leftover bones straight from the dinner plate (or picked out of the bin…oh dear) and sorry looking vegetables - a bit of this and a bit of that!

Homemade stock is the way to go, fresh and delicious. Bone broth happens to be the most nutrient dense food you can drink! It’s high protein content also reduces appetite and supports gut health.

Making stock from your leftover scraps is easy, saves you money, reduces food waste, and is a so-simple way to transform ingredients you'd normally toss, into a flavourful kitchen staple.

Veggie scraps for making stock.

Remember, just because you wouldn't want to eat it, doesn't mean it doesn't belong in your stock bowl... in fact, if it's a part of a vegetable you don't want to eat, it probably does belong in the stock bowl.

From the papery skin on garlic cloves and onions to wilted radish tops to carrot shavings not forgetting Parmesan cheese rinds. Throw in some whole aromatic veggies, in addition to whatever scraps you have, into the pot for stock.

Once you've made your stock and let it cool, simply transfer it to an airtight glass or plastic container and store it in the fridge for up to a week or freeze in portions.

Our dinner tonight required little effort thanks to Box Divvy.

We made a large salad.
We boiled some eggs.
We cooked some chipolatas sausages from Handler Meat Rushcutters Bay which we tried for the first time. Small and, according to my girl "just the right size for a sausage sandwich".

So my verdict is a thumbs up!

I tried the Laundry Sheets from Ecokaps Australia for the first time last month but I wanted to wait a while before I decided on the verdict.

We love them! My kids love them because they're a lazy person's delight, and they don't need as much prompting to do the washing anymore 😂.

I'm not a fan of big scents and this was delicate and fresh.

Cleans well and hubby just reminded me to add one to our Box Divvy order. That's a win right there!
