2024, so far has been like no other, I am honoured to have been selected on the 2024 Australian Olympic Team. There are so many people to thank for helping me to get to this point, special mention must go to Dr Richard Walker and Dr Ray Chin, for literally putting me back together. The Equestrian Australia High-Performance Team led by Chris Webb, the NSW Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport have worked together and all contributed to my rehabilitation. Special thanks to my incredible medical, physio and support team including Keiran Cleary, Sharron Flahive, Daniel Vukovic, Ross Smith, Josh Rigg and Alison Alcock. I appreciate the time and effort you have all invested in my recovery. Thanks also to my family and the great team at Bimbadeen Park for your continued support.

I am lucky to work with Bettina Hoy, Rod Brown and Nelson Pessoa in the lead-up to the games. With this great team of coaches, I am confident that Virgil and I can produce our best possible performance in Paris.

Thanks of course to Virgil’s co-owner Michelle Hasibar, my sponsors and supporter. It takes a village and I am so lucky to have a great group of people and companies behind me. I am looking forward to getting to Paris and joining my teammates Christopher Burton and Kevin McNab. I feel we are a strong team and together we are aiming to get on that podium. I am disappointed for Shenae Lowings who has the tough job of travelling reserve. Shenae and Bold Venture are in great form and I have no doubt they would be an asset to the team if given the opportunity.

And most importantly Niki, who is the most incredible wife, mum & life manager. None of this would be possible without her.

Thanks everyone for the support. Let’s do this! 🇦🇺

This Tuesday we welcome 3 time Olympic medalist Shane Rose to Part 2 of our rider series! If you hadn’t heard of him before I’m sure you would have by now, either through his accident and recovery in the final moments of his road to Paris Olympics, or from when he rode around a show jumping course in a mankini. (Though I’m sure he would prefer to be known for his hard work and dedication to the sport he loves.) He was generous to share his story with us and most importantly, how much a positive attitude helps when you are faced with set backs. 🐴

Tune is this Tuesday-wherever you get your podcasts 🎧
