I hope everyone is having a great 2024. I had intended to write a new year's message on the page but I became ill on Dec 31st and spent Jan 1st on the couch. Jan 2nd was better but I was also very tired. Guess I had too many rich foods over the Christmas break. The year can only get better for me! LOL. I hope it keeps getting better and better for you too.

JERRY IS LOST 😢
Our old soldier Jerry Springer has been missing since Thursday morning.
We have searched and searched and called and called but we fear he may have gone for the last long hunt.

If anybody in the Glengarry/Exeter area sight him please let us know.
We have checked all neighbouring fences to see if he has been strung up but there is no site of him. He is microchipped and desexed

Had some unexpected spare time today so have been doing an online course called Anger and Grief: helping clients through difficult situations. Very interesting course that covered quite a bit of information such as the HHHHHMM Scale, the physical ways grief can manifest, guidelines on how to speak to someone who is grieving, tasks of grief, how grief will differ depending on the mediators of grief, normalising feelings of grief, compassion fatigue, and more. I scored 100% in the quiz at the end.

I am a volunteer with Pets in the Park Launceston and am currently organising a fundraising concert to be held on Nov 18th. Pets in the Park is a collaboration between homeless services and the veterinary industry. We put on free veterinary clinics each month for the animals of people who are homeless. Animals are health checked, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and, flea/tick treated. Sometimes an animal may have a health issue and we help out if we can or refer to a clinic. The concert will be held on the weekend of our third anniversary of running the clinics. I am hoping there may be some businesses on here who would like to support PITP by donating a prize for a silent auction, or a yummy food item for the supper. If you can help out in anyway, I would love to hear from you. We will make sure to mention your business along with your donation. If you are a performer, I also have a couple of spaces left to fill. Any assistance will be deeply appreciated.

This 14th century door at Exeter Cathedral, UK, is thought to be the oldest existing cat flap.
A cat was paid a penny each week, to keep down the rats and mice in the north tower, and a cat flap was cut into the door below the astronomical clock to allow the cat to carry out its duties.

Records of payments were entered in the Cathedral archives from 1305 to 1467, the penny a week being enough to buy food to supplement a heavy diet of rodents.
