As you can see Thomas and Polly our Quaker parrots are enjoying some of our Birdsville chillies that are super healthy for birds!
The little ones are very hot birds eye chillies and this doesn’t stop them from getting stuck in.
We sell our chillies in our parrot mixes and sold separately.
Any questions please call as we do not check previous posts thank you

Most people do not realise that parrots actually eat insects in the wild, they are not just seed or nectar eaters. In the wild they will use their strong beaks to ply apart bark to find grubs. This rainbow lorikeet was loving his mealworms at the Canberrawalkinaviary. It’s an awesome place to visit with ringnecks, cockatiels, Java sparrows, red rumps, budgies, Supurbs, regents the list goes on flying around freely in a huge aviary. Worth a family trip to Canberra, I couldn’t get my kids out of the place 😂.
Look at this stunning male Indian ringneck, these guys won’t be available Australia wide as handraised for a couple of months as it’s the beginning of breeding season.
This post is not only to help us find a home for these to friendly but scrappy looking fellows, Oliver the female sulphur crested cockatoo and Kermil the male eclectus parrot but also to also help people who have a parrot that is plucking at home.
Below are some ways to help birds feather plucking
Birds that are under or overactive or under or overstimulated frequently pluck their feathers, as can birds that have a poor diet.
These 2 Re homer kermil the eclectus parrot and Oliver sulphur crest cockatoo have seemed to improve a little bit since we have had them at Birdsville just recently.
Anxiety or stress can be caused by a lack of fresh air, lack of light, and a disturbance, a change in circumstance, an owner going away or a change in the bird's circadian rhythm or an underlying condition. As with getting any new avian companion, we recommend getting an avian health check, the wild vet does a great job in Glebe
Both birds are definitely plucking their feathers out evidence of where the feathers are lost as the beak cannot reach certain areas such as the head, leaving these areas normal looking You can see which looks like scissor marks in the eclectus males flight feathers, some birds pluck, and some birds click and also do a scissor motion with the beak.
Another stressful situation occurs when the bird is moved from one place to another, or when there is a change in its habitual environment. Nevertheless, stress in any form can cause the bird to indulge in feather plucking.
Insufficient diet also leads to skin and feather problems, which the bird tries to solve by feather plucking. Similarly, birds affected by internal or external parasites can resort to feather plucking due to discomfort.l, another reason we also recommend you worm. Your birds every 3 months.
Feather plucking can become a habit if it is not treated in time. Usually there is more than one underlying cause for the bird's feather plucking
