To Petspertz Family

I'm reaching out to let you all know that I will be stepping back from Petspertz as I have an exciting new journey ahead of me and will be returning to a full-time position with a local team starting on the 13th of February.

I will be advertising for a new pet sitter to join our family. At this stage I can no longer do morning visits until we have our new pet sitter on board, but rest assure the clients that are booked in already will still receive their morning visits.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Pet Day is on again this year and we're holding a Pet Photo Competition to coincide with this free event! Submit your photos here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V5T8299 (entries close on Sunday July 3).

Pet Day will be held on Saturday, July 9, at the Buchanan Park Entertainment Centre. It will include lots of dog-friendly activities, competitions and prizes; free new registrations for dogs and cats; and food and market stalls.

Pet Photo Competition winners will be announced at the event and prizes awarded. All photos will also be uploaded to Council's page for a People's Choice Award (photo with the most likes).

Dear Valued Clients

Since the closure of Copper City Vet Clinic, Dr Kate (NWVC) and Dr Gillian (MIVS) are the only veterinarians servicing the Mount Isa area. Dr Kate is the only Equine vet.

Kate and Gillian already work extended hours at their respective clinics, as well as providing an afterhours service. The closure of Copper City has put extreme pressure on the staff at both clinics.

Currently, appointments for routine surgeries at both clinics are booked out at least a month in advance. Emergencies of course are seen to immediately. On any day patients are triaged with the very ill seen to first which often results in larger wait times or reshuffling of appointments is necessary. We apologise for this inconvenience.

As neither clinic has been able to secure a Veterinarian, and for the sake of their own mental health, and to avoid burn-out, Kate and Gillian have banded together to enable them to take some time out.

From 1 February NWVC and MIVS will rotate weekends. From Friday night to Monday morning, only one clinic will be open for emergencies and a Saturday clinic by appointment. Mount Isa Veterinary Surgery will operate on the 1st and 3rd weekend of each month and North West Vet Clinic will operate on the 2nd an 4th weekend of each month. In an emergency telephone your regular vet and you will be directed to which clinic is on call.

Puppy preschool does wonders !! Contact Alex

🐶 Enrol your pup into Puppy Preschool - start any time! 🐶

This is a 5 week course for pups aged between 11 – 16 weeks designed to bring the best out of your pup while giving them the best socialisation experience!

2 vaccinations (8 & 10 weeks) and PROOF REQUIRED before the start of classes.

We focus heavily on puppy socialisation and puppy information.

Topics covered include but are not limited to:
Why we vaccinate
Suitable puppy toys and games
How to deal with separation anxiety
How to toilet train
Common behavioural issues and how to deal with them
Very basic obedience including sit, down, stay and come.

$24 per class per dog, for a total of $120 per dog for 5 weeks.

Classes are run on Wednesday nights between 6pm-7pm in a parvo-free sterile environment.
