In 2024 Stedinger remains the highest ranked Australian based stallion in the WBFSH Dressage Sire Rankings (40th in 2023, peaked at 8th in 2017).

Stedinger is the sire of many Grand Prix winners throughout Europe including German team horses, Olympic and WEG competitors, a Bundeschampion and medalists, a World Young horse Bronze Medalist and numerous licensed stallions and State Premium mares.

Stedinger is the dam sire of successful dressage horses around the world, including the World Young Horse Championship silver medalist Quel Filou (Quaterback x Stedinger) and the bronze medalist Zhaplin Langholt (Glock’s Zonik x Stedinger), both now at Grand Prix, and in Australia Hollands Bend Francis (Franklin x Stedinger) winner of the 4YO DJWTS 2024. In total Stedinger is the dam sire of at least 46 licensed stallions and 53 FEI horses (Horsetelex, 2024).

This is an excellent opportunity to breed yourself a high level competition horse and potentially a future broodmare. Stedinger consistently produces horses that compete at high level in dressage, showjumping, eventing, showing and now combined driving.

Our wonderful imported state premium mare, Finesse, has delivered us another outstanding c**t via embryo transfer. Finesse stems directly from an exceptional mare family that has produced many licensed stallions including Don Shufro, Furst Toto, Escanto PS, Fair Deal OLD, and Just Wimphoff to name only a few.

Santos, from Secret’s first foal crop, was the highest scoring stallion during his 50 day test scoring 8.76. Santos has since entered the dressage ring with scores up to 9.7.

WBFSH Sire Rankings for 2023

Still the best in Australia, Stedinger ranked at 40 for 2023 on the WBFSH Sires List for Dressage Stallions. He is again the only Australian based stallion available for chilled semen in the Top 100.

The Sire Rankings are created by combining the points of each stallion’s progeny in the final WBFSH Breeder Rankings. Sir Stanley W, Fil Rouge and Sir Galanto are excellent examples of competitive Stedinger offspring.

Stedinger also contributes to the rankings of a number of other stallions, as the damsire of 3 Quaterback, 2 Totilas and 1 Sezuan offspring, proving his value as a broodmare sire. The WBFSH Sire Rankings with Progeny is an excellent tool for identifying successful crosses.

Are you curious to find out what strengths Stedinger brings to his foals or what type of mare crosses well with him?

Breeding values can be used as an objective tool to help breeders pick the most complimentary stallion for their mares. The Hanoverian Studbook assess offspring to collate data into a linear profile. This is based on a deviation from 100 with numbers below indicating less than normal and numbers above 100 as above average. This information is also given a reliability percentage.

Stedinger provides Australian breeders with an opportunity to use chilled semen from a stallion that has been given a breeding value.

Amazing to see Australian bred Stedinger offspring, ridden by an Australian rider, competing successfully in Europe. Congratulations Alicia Ryan and Merricks Warmbloods.

Alicia Ryan and Merricks Sonique have achieved a qualifying score for the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses (3-6 August, Ermelo)!

The pair scored 69.507% in the CDI-YH FEI 7YO Preliminary Test on Thursday in Sopot, Poland, before scoring 70.257% on Friday in the FEI 7YO Final Test – the latter being a qualifying score for the World Championships for Young Horses...

Our super friendly bay c**t by Stedinger (IMP) out of High Colour (IMP). Sven is bred for Grand Prix dressage and will make an exceptional dressage horse and/or show hunter prospect. His amazing temperament will make him an easy, trainable prospect for amateurs and professionals alike.

Sven was Hanoverian assessed as Silver and ACE assessed as Elite, receiving great comments from both judges for her excellent paces, conformation and type.

His dam, High Colour (IMP) was purchased at the Mare and Foal Auction in Verden before being exported to Australia. She is a proven producer of dressage horses and show horses with older offspring successfully competing in Victoria and South Australia.

Our two 2022 Stedinger foals are available for purchase now, and ready for collection after weaning at end of April.

They are beautifully bred (both out of imported mares), well cared for, well conformed and excellent movers. Both have been multi assessed for 'Elite' and 'Silver' awards. (ACE and Hanoverian) They are both bred for Grand Prix, with multiple generations of international performance lines on both sides of the pedigree, and are both pretty enough to show successfully.

Steinbach, our super friendly c**t, has an exceptional laid back temperament and should mature around 16.2hh. SOLD!

Sophia, our super pretty filly, is a little sharper and more expressive, and should mature around 16.3/17hh. SOLD!

Another great day with the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia on their annual assessment tour. We only presented 2 foals this year, Springside Steinbach (Stedinger x Hochadel x Weltmeyer) (Sold) and Springside Sophia (Stedinger x Zack x De Niro), who both received Silver Foal awards and lovely comments from assessor Anna Von Holten-Jungheit. We also presented a couple of our older fillies for mare classification, getting ready for the next generation!

It was also lovely to host some outside horses and see other breeders producing lovely stock and getting behind the tour!

Thanks to the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia for their time and energy in organising another fantastic tour, and to Anna for her expertise and enthusiasm in assessing our horses, and to Kristin Brennan for all of her help in presenting.

We were excited over the weekend to have our first homebred horses out competing. Springside Fiasco (For Romance II (IFS) x Hollingrove Quartza (Quaterback x Don Ramiro) from our very first crop of foals competed in the 4YO class at the Whittlesea Plenty Valley Dressage Club Comp on Saturday and the Victorian Dressage Club Comp on Sunday, with very respectable scores of 75.4% and 68.6%. Not bad for a young horses first time off the property. Next stop DJWTS. Thanks to the WPVC and VDC for organising two really well run, friendly competitions. We appreciate all of their hard work.

We were also really pleased to hear that Springside Eddison (Doktor Royal (IMP) x Estrada (IMP) (Zack x De Niro) had his first 4YO competition with owner Sarah Hancock scoring a super 71% at Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club Comp in NSW. Congratulations to Sarah. We couldn’t be happier to see one of our horses out competing with you.

We had a lovely time today with the ACE Group Inc. tour and assessor Jens Wehrmann. We presented two foals, our Stedinger x Hochadel x Weltmeyer c**t Springside Steinbach(Sold), and our Stedinger x Zack x De Niro filly Springside Sophia, to receive 2 elite awards. Thanks to ACE, Ingrid and Jens for their time and input. Both of these foals are available for sale.

Stedinger 24th for 2022 in the WBFSH Sire Rankings.

The WBFSH rankings are out for 2022 and Stedinger is back up, ranked at 24th, a huge increase from 37th in 2021. Not surprising when he has has more than 100 FEI offspring listed on Horse Telex. In 2022 Stedinger is the ONLY Australian based stallion available for chilled semen in the Top 100.

The rankings are a wonderful resource and such a great way to find examples of successful crosses for your own breeding.

Show us your Stedinger offspring!

We love seeing everyone’s Stedinger offspring in Australia and following their careers. Stedinger arrived in Australia in October 2013 ready for a busy breeding season. His oldest Australian offspring are now rising 8, apart from the lucky few who have older imported horses or offspring from earlier frozen breedings.

Since arriving with us in 2019 we have bred 10 foals and are eagerly awaiting 3 year this.
