We’ve got a nice group of Pilbara locale Woma Pythons (Aspidites ramsayi) that have grown a lot since these photos were taken. Hoping to further express the white bands while keeping the black bands dark and heavily contrasted.

It felt awesome finding a Common Scaly foot (Pygopus lepidopodus) looking this good! This is just one of the many patterns this species of legless lizard expresses.

A classic gecko species we found in the Perth region last night. After a 42 degree day in the area we searched, the South West Spiny Tailed Geckos (Strophurus spinigerus) were certainly prolific after dusk. Most were gravid females!

The Western Glossy Swamp Skink (Lissolepis luctuosa) were abundant around Lake Sepping when the sun was out. An awesome skink that’s so well adapted to swamp environments in the south west.

A Pilbara locale Pygmy Python (Antaresia perthensis). Absolute cracking species to work with! We just have a pair at the moment which are being raised up so hopefully in the future we can produce more down the track.

In Western Australia getting the North West Carpet Python (Morelia spilota variegata) into the reptile keeping system was a massive effort for all those involved. This young female was part of the second clutch ever produced in WA so I feel very honoured to work with this awesome species.

The West Coast Banded Snake (Simoselaps littoralis) was an unreal find and our only snake on the trip to the Murchison Region. This fella stumped a few of us thinking it was a Jan’s Banded Snake (Simoselaps bertholdi) but we learnt that the difference size band behind the head and an enlarged lower labial scale gave it away that it wasn’t!

We found some awesome wildlife in the Jarrahdale forests over the past week or so. It was a great opportunity to test out some new camera gear! Species listed below 👇

We’ve been a bit quiet lately but behind the scenes a lot has been happening! Our website is coming together nicely and I’d like to mention a donation system we are adding to the business. 20% of all sales from Blue Moon Reptiles will be donated to the following West Australian organisations:

- Darling Range Wildlife Shelter WA
