You can’t tell us this doesn’t put a smile on your face! It absolutely was worth the wet clothes to see how much pure joy she lit up with when her mum allowed her in after class 🥰

Some of the tips above require pre-preparation such as crate training and daily supplement usage for effectiveness during rarer occasions such as seasonal storms and events like NYE.
Use of thundershirts, snoods, a car ride, snuggling with your dog, playing calming music or situational medicine prescribed by a vet are all great on the spot ways to help your dog through these scary events. Regardless, it is always best to have a plan & make sure your dog is safely secured before big days like New Years Eve and Australia Day.

We take off lead dogs very seriously because we don’t know the dog approaching. Whether we’re with client dogs or our own we do not want strange dogs approaching us and potentially harming our dogs.
Today whilst with 8 month old Arlo, we had lots of dogs exit their cars off lead and come running over to check us out. As soon as I spotted this grey dog approaching off lead, I picked Arlo up and put him straight in the car crate. This grey dog ran up barking and then moved in towards our car crate to sniff Arlo through the front and started growling. This is where I stepped in front of the crate and you can guess what the owner of the dog called out from her car...
Rushing full pelt towards another dog is not friendly it’s offensive aggression (forward threatening behaviour without threat from other dog/person) and is a rude way to approach any dog or person.
Growling at another dog is not friendly; it is a warning signal outside of play.
Thankfully the dog was put on lead until they were a few meters from us where the owner then re-released her dog meters from the fenced dog park 🤦♀️

Goodmorning to everyone except breeders who lie to puppy buyers to make a quick buck on poorly bred dogs 💔

We’re truthfully a little over seeing so many owners being lied to about the puppy they’re buying and will spent the next 10-15 years of their life with! Yes a portion of the responsibility falls onto buyers to find a breed that suits their lifestyle and expectations and then a breeder who breeds healthy, balanced dogs to suit.

However a huge portion also falls on breeders or so called breeders to be doing the right thing; putting in the hard yards to become registered breeders and not stopping there but breeding dogs to their breed standard with solid temperaments. We hope someday there will be much more stringent laws and fewer breeders breeding dogs who are unknowingly going into homes where their life is set up to be struggle after another due to poor genetic health or behavioural issues. Know better, do better.
