I love working on the floor 😆! Cats feel at ease there, minimal lifting and manoeuvring, everything close by (in this case stethoscope, microchip scanner, scales, vaccines, nail clippers and TREATS). Patty and Skittles loved it too… even disguised heart auscultation with tummy tickles 🙌.

Like most of my work days, there are highs and lows. Seeing this beautiful girl was a high. She is coming into such a loving home, that since February has been grieving the loss of one of their older Rottweilers. With her she brings lightness, laughter and cuddles. Her big brother is still unsure… his world was rocked back in Feb. It is early days yet, but things are looking up ❤️❤️.

Our story

Since becoming a vet nearly 20 years ago, I feel as though I’ve done a bit of everything. I’ve worked with large animals on farms in the sweltering heat and dead of night, in the UK with tiny ‘pocket pets’, in state of the art Emergency and Critical Care centres and multivet general practice hospitals.

The bond I’ve witnessed time and again between owners and pets is heart warming. I’ve also seen the stress and anxiety a visit to a clinic can create in pets, and the time and juggling it can require by the owners.

I began doing more home visits, and loved the convenience it afforded the owners, and the comfort it afforded the animals. So I founded Vet About Town, an Adelaide based mobile vet service.

I look forward to meeting you and your furry ones soon.
