BREAKFAST IN BED
-
With so much work still to do on the sanctuary, we really need this rain to stop but in the meantime, the camels are happy they can enjoy breakfast in bed in the warm and dry. Anyone for a kiss ❤️
OUCH!
-
The water is subsiding, revealing the true extent of the damage. You never fully grasp the power of Mother Nature until you witness the aftermath.
-
More trees than we first thought are down, and debris from the floods has pulled down fences, bringing dangerous hazards with it.
-
We've already begun work to restore the paddocks as quickly as possible, as they are vital to our ongoing ability to rescue others.
-
A huge thank you to Kelly, Jenny, and Dave for their incredible efforts yesterday, enduring back-breaking work, even through several downpours, to help get the sanctuary back on its feet. We couldn't do this without support like yours, and we are so grateful.
-
Our fundraiser is still ongoing, and if you’d like to help, there are many ways to contribute. To those who have already donated, THANK YOU! This sanctuary has always been about providing a safe haven for animals in desperate need, and we can only continue this mission because of your generosity and support.
-
You have no idea how much of a difference you make. Seeing the look in an animal’s eyes when they realise they are safe, cared for, and loved, it changes everything.

TREES DOWN AND WATER EVERYWHERE 😔
-
Alfred is certainly not keen on moving anywhere fast.
-
After a tense few days, the rain and wind has finally beaten us. All animals are safe but much like us, exhausted.
-
The clean up and work involved to get things back will take time and funds, which are things always in short supply at the sanctuary.
-
If you would like to help, apart from praying that Alfred finally moves on, and you are able too, you can donate to our relief. Remember 100% of your donation goes directly to the animals care and each donation over $2 is completely tax deductible. Thank you for your support- ❤️

THANK YOU 🙏
-
We truly appreciate all the kind messages. Over the past few days, we’ve been busy securing everything that needs protection and moving anything that could potentially cause harm.
-
The animals remain our top priority, so we’ve made sure all their shelters are secure and as prepared as possible for whatever this cyclone may bring.
-
Apologies for our recent silence on social media. We currently have a number of animals requiring constant care, including 10 dogs on revised medical plans. As always, they come first, but we’re looking forward to sharing updates on everything happening behind the scenes.
-
Please, we can’t stress this enough: keep your pets indoors, sheltered, and monitored. They’re scared and don’t understand what’s happening. Let’s get through this together, and if anyone needs assistance, please reach out. ❤️
A BIG THANK YOU!
-
Paddock management is one of the biggest tasks here at the sanctuary, so we were so so grateful when Matt @coochie_glass_house_mountains offered to give us a hand to get rid of some of the toxic weeds that can be fatal to our residents. Thanks again Matt, you have some furry friends for life ❤️ @Coochiehydrogreenglasshousemountains
HEAL YOUR SOUL ❤️

There's nothing like the peace animals bring to soothe the soul, and brushing the always handsome Shaggy is the ultimate form of healing ❤️
WE SAID GOODBYE 😢💔
After nearly four weeks of fighting for Oscar, today we said goodbye. Despite his incredible courage, each day the odds stacked higher against him. He began having difficulty with his front legs, showed symptoms of hydrocephalus, and finally struggled to breathe as he started to aspirate.
We rushed him to emergency @northcoastvets, where we were met by Dr. Wendy, one of the most compassionate people we’ve ever encountered and someone we cannot thank enough. She saw through our tears and exhaustion how desperately we wanted to win this fight for Oscar, but the odds were insurmountable, and his struggle was now causing him to suffer.
With heavy hearts, we wiped away our tears and said goodbye to our little fighter as he slipped away peacefully, leaving behind a heartbroken family but knowing he is now at peace.
People often ask if we regret these moments, and the answer is no. We gave Oscar the chance to experience life, however brief. He was so deeply loved, got to know his mum, was cherished and protected by his sister, and opened his eyes to see the world for the first time, things we often take for granted but were the most precious gifts we could give our brave little man.
Rest easy, buddy. We know you’ll be waiting for us. ❤️ #adoptdontshop #dashundpuppy #rescueanimals #dogrescue #puppiesofinstagram #dashund
MORNING 🌞

Jemima wanted to wish you all a very Happy Tuesday and to show you how impossibly cute she is. She is going to be an absolute mischief maker. 😂❤️ #rescueanimals #dashundsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #puppiesofinstagram #
FRAGILE
-
As much as he tries, little Oscars issues prevent him from latching on to mum, which we really need him to to. However, this little guy is fighting hard. The two hours feeds are continuing to help him develop and mum is just amazing, not letting him out her sight for a minute. Come on Oscar, you can do this ❤️ #rescueanimals #dashundsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #dashund #rescuefarm
WHAT A TEAM ❤️
-
With his daily pain management plan in full swing from @nicklinwayvetsurgery, to assist with his back injuries. Samson has gone from shut down shaking in pain, to finally enjoying a life pottering in the garden, pain free, assisting with chores and assuming the role of Shadow to Christian. We think he's got the job 😂❤️
WELCOME TO THE WORLD ❤️
-
One of our most recent rescues Rosie came from a back yard breeder. Thankfully they were under the impression she wasn't pregnant, however she started to look and sound distressed, so we rushed her up to @nicklinwayvetsurgery where the team performed an emergency c section to deliver these two little angels, Oscar and Jemima. Sadly little Oscar has been born with some difficulties, cleft palate, hare-lip and crooked tail. With only a 20% chance of survival, his battle is going to be a big one for all 200gs of him. Because of his cleft palate, he is unable to latch on to mum, so 2 hour feeds have begun, to give him every chance. Welcome to the world little guys ❤️ #rescueanimals #adoptdontshop #sanctuary #puppiesofinstagram #dashund #dashundsofinstagram
HELP 😷
-
Perry had his first visit to @nicklinwayvetsurgery this week. After spoiliing him rotten, it was time to deal with the first on Perrys list, a torn dewclaw, which was causing him a lot of discomfort. As you can see, he is handling recuperation well 😂❤️ #rescueanimals #Chihuahua #adoptdontshop #chihuahuarescue #sanctuary
