As part of my First Aid course we talked about some dangerous items and choking hazards.
Number 1: Rawhide
Pig ears and antlers have also been associated with choking. Please be careful when giving your beloved family member something to chew.
I have attached a video of how rawhide is manufactured 🤮☠️
AND dogs are 3 to 4 times more likely to choke than cats 🙀

During the Easter period I was lucky to be entrusted with the care of these 2 gorgeous doggos again. 🙏 Twice a day visits, up with the beautiful sun rise🌞, quick trip to the local park for a morning walk and returning again in the evening to make sure they were tucked away safe and sound 😀
Gosh these 2 make me smile 😁

I will endeavour to introduce you to more of my friends of the furry kind over the coming weeks.😺🐶

Taking dogs for a walk and having a big sniff is essential for their overall well-being, and experts consider 20mins of sniffing is as beneficial as an hours walk in terms of enrichment for your dog. These lucky pooches have owners who, in their absence, wanted to make sure they got their daily positive vibes 🙏❤️🕉

More and more people are getting back into the office, and it warms my heart when owners think of their furry family members. These gorgeous doggos get a visit from me to make sure they get a toilet break, a little run around and a complementary cuddle 😊🐶🤗 🕉

You really know when someone loves their animals when you're greeted at the front door by a friendly chicken. 😊🐓
Whilst the sit didn't technically include the chickens, I made sure these little escape artists were safe and sound each time I popped by. 🤣

I love that people love their feathery friends as much as their furry ones. This little crew, (with each having a unique name)was visited twice a day to make sure they were let out for fresh air and sunshine and tucked away safe and sound at night. The peaceful setting and beautiful view was an added bonus. 🐓🐔☮️

I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with some beautiful doggos with some regular walks and also visits. 🐕‍🦺Truly, some of them just look like they are smiling all the time, so joyful.🐶 Makes heading out into the cold❄️ Macedon ranges winter all worthwhile 😊🕉🙏

I bet most of us have been asked, "Are you a dog or cat person?"😸🐶
Too hard basket for me I love them all ❤️
And this post is dedicated to some of the beautiful kitties I have had the pleasure of taking care of. 😊
Not all of these beautiful felines were comfortable with a stranger in their home 🙀 preferring to stay in their hidey holes, it's so important to respect their safe space, however with each visit I made sure they were OK and gave them kindness and reassurance. 🕉🙏

These 2 lucky pups had a furmumma who wanted to make sure they got their daily dose of attention. ❤️ The feeding side of things was all covered and I was happy to oblige with a daily visit for a walk, some ball sports, and plenty pats in between. The owners were provided with video and photo updates to reassure them that their furry family members were happy and well. 🏐🤗🐕🐕🥰

Look at this gorgeous girl, twice daily visits with a walk every second day inclusive of an evening visit to make sure she was tucked in safe and sound for the night. Alot of dog to cuddle, well that's just a bonus! 😀 Gentle giant and an absolute delight. 😍 Yet another furry client to have a little piece of my heart ❤️

When looking after your furbabies I think it's important to try and maintain their routine as much as possible.
And this meant an early morning wake up call for these 2 bundles of joy. 🌄
Daily visits with a walk. I dont know if the rain gods were on strike at that hour of the morning, 🤔 but we were also lucky enough to stay dry. 🍀🍀 I've said it multiple times, what an amazing way to start the day. 😁😁 Just take a look at these little faces, and I'm sure you'll agree, you can't help but smile ☺️☺️ ❤️🐶🐶❤️

I guess we can all have our own interpretation, but one thing I can confirm all the furbabies I visited across the Easter weekend made me smile, warmed my heart, and was absolute music for MY soul. 🕉❤️🐶 This is just a few of the gorgeous doggos needing a daily visit and check-in. 😊👍

A little while ago, I was fortunate to be entrusted to care for this furry family again. I posted about one of these little guys just recently, who has wicked ball handing skills. ⚽️⚽️
Twice daily visits, with a walk included with loads of cuddles in between.🤗
I also wanted to share this nifty kitty litter box! Sometimes, it's the small things that get you excited as a pet sitter 🤣

Just look at this little menagerie I was lucky enough to care for, cats and dogs living in harmony, warms my heart to see ❤️ Daily visits, including a walk. 🐱🐱🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺
Each Doggo has their own little personality, from patient and sensible, to bouncy and joyful and finally the local alarm clock who made sure everyone was awake when we walked, (gosh I giggled). 🐶🤭

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season, I have just returned from some time away myself and am ready to get back into caring for your furbabies again. 🐱🐶🤗

Before I left, I had the pleasure of looking after some beautiful cats. ❤️ Some cats can be independent and nonchalant, going about their day with not much of a care in the world. 🐱 But then there are those who just love a smooch and a scratch, well folks you've found the right person for the job! 🙋‍♀️ 🥰

This furry family was an absolute joy to visit, from the sensible calm cat who was napping on the couch, to the excitable older gentleman happy for a stroll and finally the boisterous, smiley Labrador that I think just loved life. 😍

Once a day visits, combined with a walk, it was early morning starts to beat the heat 🐾🐕‍🦺🌞 It wasn't long before the routine of me visiting was established and I would find them patiently sitting at the door 😊 What a amazing way to start a day 🐱🐶🐶🕉❤️

What a joy it was to care for these two beautiful doggos, with 2 visits daily and a walk every few days. Both different personalities, but each just as friendly and playful, always keen for a smooch and a scratch, occasionally a sneaky lick to the face when I wasn't paying attention 🐶😋

With each visit they made me giggle, there is something quite joyful in just watching dogs play you could almost see in their eyes what they were thinking and feeling ❤️ 🕉🐶

Dogs just enjoy life and their special humans, it's the simple things. 😊

There is a lovely poem written by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh - Lessons from Dog's, which I think sums up our doggy companions perfectly. 🥰

A COMMUNITY ANNOUCMENT
If you haven't already, I recommend you download this app, (First aid for pets), it has so much information regarding emergencies, including nearest pet emergencies centres. Hand on my heart ❤️ I hope there is no need to use this, but it is a very handy tool to have. 😊
Also a gentle reminder to be mindful of walking your doggos in the heat, 🐕‍🦺🐾 they rely on their humans to make the right choices 🙏
