Ben Kell First Edition (pending) arrived at a respectable hour today.
Dam; Marconi Flair. SOD; Tooravale Picasso. Sire; Tooravale Harlech.
Rich in Tooravale, Weston Park, Weston, Imperial and Eyarth blood this beautiful filly has a bright future.

While I missed the arrival, foaling attendant David Zouch Ross was on hand to ensure all was well. Thanks very much David.

It’s taken over 50 years to achieve but the time has come to launch my own stud known as BEN KELL PONY STUD (owner Robert Ralston).
The name BEN KELL was the original name of the farm my great grandfather grew up on in Scotland and where he left from to emigrate to Australia in the late 1800’s. Robert Ralston then settled at Moglonemby, just outside Euroa and named his new property BEN KELL.
BEN KELL became a highly successful Ayrshire cattle stud and bred and produced many Melbourne Royal Show Champions including the renowned Poppy of Ben Kell. Robert, my grandfather Norman, and my father Neil, all breed and exhibited not only Ayrshire cattle but Clydesdale’s and Thoroughbreds. In his earlier years Neil was a successful show jump rider and went on to hold a country thoroughbred trainers’ licence for many years. You could say horses are in my blood! I have exhibited, been involved with and owned many breeds over the years.
Under the guiding stewardship of my friend and mentor Mr. David Zouch Ross
(Falconhurst Stud) the foundation stock of BEN KELL have been amassing quietly for a number of years.
The BEN KELL Shetland ponies are rich in Wells, Harviestoun, Greenvalley and Redacres bloodlines with the BEN KELL Welsh ponies being rich in Eyarth, Weston, Weston Park, Imperial, Tooravale and Karanga bloodlines.
In October and November 2021 the highly anticipated first BEN KELL prefixed foals will be born to
1. Marconi Flair (Sire; Tooravale Picasso. Dam; Weston Park Magnolia. SOD; Rotherwood Casino Royale (Imp)) in foal to Tooravale Harlech (Sire; Weston Manhattan. Dam; Imperial Honora. SOD; Eyarth Tigra).
2. Imperial Havana (Sire; Imperial Juggler. Dam; Imperial Honora. SOD; Eyarth Tigra) in foal to Waxwing Peru (Imp) (Sire; Eyarth Beau Geste. Dam; Cwrtycadno Perlen. SOD; Cwrtycadno Cymro).
BEN KELL will not have any Shetland pony foals arriving in 2021 however the foundation stallion Falconhurst Show Time will be commencing his second season as a sire.
