Mel and James are on the hunt for some Fresh New Talent!! We are busting at the seams with work and when summer comes we are only going to get busier!

Got hairdressing skills but considering a career change into Dog Grooming? We want to hear from you!

Successful applicant MUST:
- Be confident in working independently, either in one of our Grooming Salons located in Unanderra and Robertson, or in a Mobile Trailer
- Have a vehicle and licence capable of towing a mobile trailer (don't worry, we will teach you to tow the trailer!)
- Have an aptitude/talent in grooming/hairdressing/barbering etc.
- Most Importantly! LOVE DOGS! - Our business specialises in difficult dogs, confidence with animals and a calm understanding nature is very important in our specific business.

We are looking for someone young and fresh that we can train to the skill level we need to meet our specific client base.

Full training and ongoing support provided. Flexible hours.

An exciting day today, with our talented groomer Katt sharing her expertise at Yallah Tafe, giving a demonstration in Horse clipping!
The students were all very impressed, and it was a valuable experience for everyone.
Congratulations to Katt on a successful first formal demonstration! 🥳

Here at McKinnons, we are more than just your average groomer. We specialise in difficult cases.

Our groomers take the time to understand the psychology behind your dogs behaviour and help them overcome their fear of grooming. We are trained and experienced in all levels of canine behaviour.

We work without sedation, and only muzzle when absolutely necessary for our safety. We build trust when your dog is at its most vulnerable.

We are looking for dog models for training purposes!

All services will be fully supervised by Mel personally as our staff learn the art of grooming.

We have limited availability for when staff are rostered on, and we would like a mix of breeds so please send us a photo of your dog and the day you would prefer either via Facebook or SMS 0434892844 so we can ensure we have the breeds we need booked on days required.

Clients applying:
- Flexible during the day you are booked in
- Dogs should be of good temperament for grooming
- Meet the breed requirements below
- Not place limitations on how your dog is groomed ie: specify lengths, styles etc as we require a variation and flexibility to learn different blade lengths and tools etc.

All finished grooms will be inspected thoroughly by Mel and signed off as quality groom before your pup goes home.
We will have further training weeks coming up if you miss out this time round!

Mel and James have been pottering away on our next venture!

From 25th March 2024 We will be opening our Robertson Retreat!

Offering a range of services including:

Full salon services, wash/dry, deshedding, full grooming services

Our Doggy Daycare is the perfect spot to keep your pup entertained while you are at work or out for the day.

In addition we will also be offering short and long term boarding in a relaxed homely environment. With fresh country air and a picturesque small town vibe, this home away from home is the perfect place for your pup to spend their days holidaying while you holiday.

A taxi service is available with pickup/drop off points located at our Unanderra Salon and in Nowra making our daycare and boarding services even more accessible!
