Hi all!

As I’m sure you are aware, costs have skyrocketed of late, not just at the fuel pump, and being a mobile service, this has impacted our business severely. Over the last year we have tried to absorb these costs, but these inflated prices don’t seem to be going anywhere. We have made the decision that, as of Monday the 11th of April, there will be a small increase for all services that we provide.

Thank you so much for your continued custom, we appreciate all of our clients, furry or otherwise, and know that we couldn’t do what we do without all of your support over the years.

❄️ IMPORTANCE OF WINTER GROOMING ❄️

As the cold weather starts to set in, It’s easy to forget about the importance of grooming throughout winter.

There’s a common misconception that dogs don’t need to be groomed, or only groomed minimally over the winter months.

People may feel they don’t want their dog to have a bath and get cold 🥶
When In fact, a warm bubble bath, dry and brush can be very beneficial for your pet and their well-being.

There are four simple grooming tips/services to follow and combat winter to ensure that your dog stays comfortable, dry and healthy. Here are the services and a detail insight into what’s included.

1. Wash and Dry:
• Warm Bath
• Dry
• Brush Coat
• Nails
• Clean Ears
• Deodoriser Spray

(Home tip: Try to keep there paws dry and check the hair between them as their is a chance the mud under the paws can get stuck and cause discomfort.)

2. Tidy Up, Wash and Dry:
• Warm Bath
• Dry
• Sanitary Trim
• Bottom
• Nails
• Tidy Feet/Pads
• Tidy Eyes
• Brush Coat
• Clean Ears
• Deodoriser Spray

(Popular option in winter, must be knot and Matt free for this option)

3. Full groom:
• Warm Bath
• Dry
• Full Haircut
(No you don’t have to go short, but coat must be Matt/knot free to be able to achieve the longer lengths).
• Sanitary Trim
• Bottom
• Tidy Face
• Tidy Ears
• Tidy Tail
• Nails
• Brush Coat
• Clean Ears
• Deodoriser Spray

(A build up of wet, and dirty coat can trap bacteria which untreated can cause skin irritation, often resulting in a vet visit)

4. Winter dog jumpers
Coats/jumpers are great for all dogs, however different breeds require different maintenance with them.

A short haired dog like a grey hound for example still require bushing to remove all the loose undercoat but can wear a coat almost all the time, while a poodle who has a longer coat needs to be brushed daily.

Without the regular brushing, and the mixture of the moisture in the air and friction of the coat can cause matting and discomfort for your pet.

WE’RE BACK!!!! It’s been a while, and I’m sure you are all ready, we certainly are, so let’s get those pooches clean and groomed!!!

A few reminders, email addresses will now be required for bookings as a COVID-19 declaration will be emailed to you 24hrs before each appointment and will need to be filled out or updated before we can groom your pooch.

Please have power access ready and your dog on a lead before we arrive so that the handover can be done seamlessly and with minimal contact.

And DONT FORGET... Christmas is now only 8 weeks away!! And appointments are already scarce, so if you want to get booked in before then, get in now!!!!

Ok, I’ve been a little lost today to be honest. Not really clear on what to do next 😳

Yesterday’s announcement has confirmed that our industry will not be able to resume till at least the 23rd of November.
Not really the news any of us expected or were hoping for.
I was hoping to celebrate my 7 years in business this month but not really sure how right now. 🙈

I’ve really missed all the chats and laughs. You guys have become more than just my clients and I am missing seeing my people! And helping you feel amazing!

We are all in the same boat pretty much and fighting this is just going to cause more frustration and anxiety for me and my family, so there is only moving forward from here and focus on what I can control.
One day at a time !

UPDATE:... We will now be closed, at this stage, until after the 26th of October.

Hi everyone! As you know, Melbourne is about to enter into 6 weeks of lockdown, and we have finally received confirmation that our business will need to cease operations during this time.

It is with heavy hearts that we will not be able to look after your furry family until after this time... We are going to take this time to reset and spend some quality time with our families.

Today I smashed out 171 push-ups for mental health on day 2 of ! Today’s target represented the 𝟭𝟳.𝟭% 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in 2018-2019. The vast majority of these (~80%) were for anti-depressants, which were used by around 𝟯 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀.

Anti-depressant medications work by increasing the availability of neurotransmitters, which affect how our nerves communicate with each other in our brains and all over our bodies. Neurotransmitters affect many parts of our lives, from our mental health, to our guts, to how we feel pain. So, even though these medications are technically called anti-depressants, they have been used for a wide range of health conditions.

Covid-19 Update

It’s an uncertain time, for all of us, and we are all holding our breath waiting to see what will happen...

And in this uncertain time we at Northern and Western Mobile Dogwash want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to keep ourselves, and our clients safe in these times...

As far as social distancing goes, we are pretty low risk as we are a small family business and our contact with clients is usually pretty brief... we spend most of our time with the Furry members of your family making them beautiful and happy!!!

We also want to reassure you that we are always washing our hands (they are in soap most of the day anyway...😜). And more importantly are using hand sanitiser before and after each and every client...

Needless to say we are following all guidelines set out by government and trying our best to go about business as usual, being a small business this may impact us very heavily, so we appreciate your love and support at this time, and if you need to vent after the appointment, we are good listeners too! We’ll just keep the 1.5m distance while we chat...

Keep safe and sane while we live through this craziness..... and don’t forget about your fur babies!

I’m doing it!!!!!! We have decided it’s time to get a dog!!!! I know, I know, a dog groomer that doesn’t own a dog?!?! I’m we haven’t had the chance to get one in the past with the places we rented... and then we had 3 cats that we would have to socialise the dog with... oh dear!!! But little everleigh needs a play pal, and furry friend, someone to tell her secrets to, and give her food she doesn’t want to... and cats just aren’t gonna cut it!!!

So, we’re looking for suggestions of breed, bearing in mind we have cats and a 5 yr old... what do you guys suggest?.. I have some ideas, but would love some input.....
I think it needs to be a puppy, so it can learn to live with the cats, and we want to adopt not buy....

So, as well as suggestions, if you know of any puppies that may need a new home? Let me know...
So exciting!!!

Not many people can say they genuinely love what they do... but I am so lucky that I can!!! And that is mostly due to the amazing clients that I have and have had over the years.. oh, and their owners too!!! 😜
