Continuing, Full Time
Level 6 - $82,846 to $89,610 pa (plus 17% superannuation)

You will be joining the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory technical team responsible for the provision of commercial diagnostic pathology services as well as technical and laboratory support for teaching and research in the Faculty of Science and Health.
You will be responsible for receiving and processing samples from a variety of animal species for microbiological culture and analysis and liaising with external clients. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and a chemical stock register, and preparing teaching material within your discipline area as well as supporting additional diagnostic areas as required.
This position has a specialised focus and, as such would suit an individual with skills, qualifications and experience in veterinary microbiology. Experience and/or willingness to develop skills in diagnostic veterinary parasitology or molecular diagnostics would be highly regarded.
To be successful you will have:
A degree in Biomedical Science or similar field relevant to diagnostic veterinary pathology, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated skills in veterinary diagnostic microbiology, including knowledge of culture and identification procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe environment, including knowledge and proficiency in the safe use, handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances and biological materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems to achieve work outcomes.
