Today we are celebrating Leia’s 5th birthday. Leia has been with us since she was very young and is full of energy. She loves to play with her friends at daycare and does not like to have rest time! She is a very loving girl who always wants a cuddle but her favourite activity is always getting in the cardboard boxes! Happy Birthday gorgeous girl, we love you! 😍 🎉🎂

Losing 1 baby is hard but losing 2 in a week is harder! Today we said goodbye to our gorgeous, and always happy, girl China. At 17 years old she was our 2nd fur-baby and was the dog that everyone wished they had. She was easy, independent and went from an anxious puppy to a confident adult. She helped shape our puppy Ebony, setting boundaries and being the amazing matriarch she was until the end. You will always live in our hearts and I will miss your amazing sweet calm energy! Love you China girl! 💔🥰

Good socialisation means more than wrestling and playing with other dogs. It also means being able to be calm and neutral in the presence of other dogs. It means being able to engage and disengage with other dogs politely. It means listening and responding to other dog’s body language. Socialisation needs constant supervision to maintain positive interactions. Always advocate for your dog, remove and protect them from situations they are uncomfortable with. Do not allow situations where your dog is uncomfortable to continue otherwise they will escalate. Always encourage good, safe play and socialisation. ☺️

This morning we said goodbye to our beautiful old boy, Pedro! The place will not be the same without you. You were our first fur-baby and outlived 3 other feline family members. I remember when we went to the AWL and you came and chose us to be your humans. At 18 years old you have been there with us through the addition of other cats, dogs and human babies to our family. We thought you would live forever but old age crept up on you and you are now at peace, no longer in pain or discomfort. We will miss you gorgeous boy. RIP 💔

ABOUT:

Gorgeous Freddy, is a fun, smart little dog. He is very good looking and has a very sweet nature.
Freddy may be tiny but it needs to be remembered that in spite of his size, Freddy is a dog and must be treated like a dog! He needs to be trained and have rules and boundaries the same as any other dog.

Freddy has 4 legs and he prefers to use them - he does not enjoy being carried around or babied at all so please take note of this when applying. Freddy is not a couch potato - he’s a little Pocket Rocket! And absolutely loves being challenged both mentally and physically. When he’s being asked to work, he does it full of enthusiasm and with the biggest smile on his face while doing it.

Freddy is learning to enjoy meeting new dogs and having play dates with them. At this stage though he would prefer to be your one and only dog at home.

BEHAVIOURAL NOTES:
Freddy can be a bit anxious and stressed when left alone.
May bark at unfamiliar dogs passing by the fence line.
He does show signs of toy possessiveness and food aggression - will need continuous training once adopted.
Freddy does NOT like to be picked up so you will need to understand this and respect his aversion to this.
Secure fencing is required as Freddy will escape and go on his own adventure if he sees a way to do so.

Having our best days before the weekend 😍

Some parts of our day involve running, digging, chasing balls and wrestling. These are high energy activities I like to call in the orange zone. We like to keep most of our day in the green zone, low energy, gentle, neural and calm. Our Story

We have been offering Doggy Day Care Services for nearly 7 years and have great experience in managing dogs in a group environment. I am trained in dog behaviour and reading dog’s body language to maintain a safe environment for dog’s to play. I am also qualified in pet first aid.

Doggy Day Care provide structured days of physical and mental activities and enrichment. We have a beautiful 2.5 acre property with a fully fenced playground for the dogs. They dogs have space to run, play and be dogs. We encourage digging, scent-work, water play and activities designed to trigger their instincts. Once they have had a day of being dogs, they can have a bath, get their nails clipped and go home smelling wonderful with a bag of home-made natural dog treats.

Canine Massage (Canine Myofunctional Therapy) is an holistic, hands-on therapy that involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, muscle spasms, and stress. Canine Massage is a natural therapy that increases circulation and nutrient supply to muscles which promotes the body’s ability to heal itself.

Canine Massage can be used as a treatment therapy, alongside other medical aids, for conditions such as arthritis, muscle spasms, torn ligaments or as a maintenance therapy for performance or active dogs.
