We had a great morning at Wyong Ag show. Highgrove Sundance aka Frankie won the yearling gelding class and secured reserve Champion youngstock (Yearlings & 2 year olds) Andy finished 3rd in the 15 - 15.2hh gelding class.

Great day out for Highgrove Farm at Eastern Branch one day show today. Highgrove Sundance aka Frankie came 3rd in the yearling futurity out of a group of 7 very nice yearlings. Caitlin took Brigalow Andy and came home with 3rd in the big gelding led class.
Thanks to all the Eastern Branch committee for putting on a great show.

The flies are so sticky at the moment and really annoy the horses faces when we are riding, I brush on Absorbine fly guard but it doesn't do anything. What sort of repellants are my horsey friends using?

Float loading training for Frankie today. He had his Poppy Charlie to show him how it's done and after a couple of stops at the tailgate he followed Charlie on the third go straight in. A couple more practices and he was happy to walk in on a loose rein on his own, total training time 15 minutes. Very happy with our little fella.

We attended the level 1 Judges Workshop this weekend. It was very well run and informative, we also met plenty of like minded people and caught up with some friends.

This is the first face-to-face Judges Workshop we have held since 2019 and it was highly successful with 30 Members attending from many parts of NSW.

Thank you to all the participants who made this workshop so productive and enjoyable. Special thanks to course facilitator, Gerald O'Brien for his wealth of knowledge and experience which made the weekend so worthwhile for our up-and-coming Judges.

These workshops are available to ASHS Members and presented over a 2-day interactive workshop by an ASHS Judges Assessor, including presentations, video analysing & practical judging activities.

Such a beautiful winters day on the farm today. Frankie and his poppy Charlie enjoyed a long sleep in the sun. Maybe I'll join them tomorrow.

We took Ace to Wyong show today. It's only his second time out and he got a bit distracted at times but he gets better each time we do something with him.
Reserve Champ Led, 2nd in Novice Hack and Working and 3rd Open Hack and Working.
Very proud of Ace and Caitlin.

Caitlin rode Ace at Eastern Branch show at Morisset today, his first time out at a show. Couldn't be happier with him as he took it all in his stride and collected 2nd place in the Novice hack and 2nd place in the Novice working. Shout out to Billy Fish who started Ace under saddle and keeps us tuned up. It was also great to catch up with Abbie and Rowan from Tullawanta Stockhorses who bred Ace.

We took Ace to Sandy Langsfords adult riding morning today. Considering he was only broken in 5 weeks ago he was very well behaved around the other horses and he did all the activities with ease. Billie Fish started him for us and she has given him a solid foundation while keeping his mind relaxed, he really knows his job even at this early stage and will only get better. Keen to get him to Eastern Branch show at Morisset in two weeks.
Sandy and Jeanette run a great morning at their beautiful farm in Jilliby, a little flat work in the arena to warm up and then out on the working equitation obstacles. It's a great change of pace for riders and their horses.

Billie Fish broke him in for us and she has given him a great foundation. We had a great time, Sandy and Jeanette run a terrific riding morning.

Over Christmas we've had 6 beautiful horses holiday spelling with us including the two mini ponies, Zoe and Chloe, all the way up to the grey horse in the background, Georje, who is around 17.3 hands. Sure are the tall and the short of it.
